This is a beautiful 1BR in a perfect location, that can easily accommodate up to 3 people. Far better than a tiny hotel room in the NYC for less money. You will be staying a few blocks from SoHo (Best Shopping), the East Village (Best Restaurants) and the LES (Best Nightlife) in New York City. Buses are only one block in any direction and Subway trains are a scant two blocks away (about a two minute walk). • 5th floor, elevator (View of the Empire State Building) • Apartment is 500 sf • 6 Huge windows • Hardwood floors throughout • Individual AC/Heat controls • There are very few personal belongings and no clutter • Queen large bedroom • Full size tub and shower • Spanish tile floors • Luxury cotton towels • Laundry in the basement • 1 Huge open Queen size bedroom (Queen-Sized Plush Top Bed) • 1 Full size pull out sleeper sofa • 600 thread count cotton sheets and down comforters • New modern furnishings • 1 x LED HDTV • Digital HD cable with all premium channels including on-demand • Playstation 3 and games • High speed WiFi included • Full spacious kitchen • Tile kitchen and bathroom floors • Refrigerator • Full range • Microwave • Coffee maker • Very nice pots, pans, plates, glass, etc • Ample closet and dresser space • Iron and ironing board The apartment is also close to many excellent family friendly restaurants as well as a Starbucks on the corner! The place was great, I never got to meet Jake but always easy to get a hold of for anything you would need. Very nice part of town, lots of things to do more than you could ever imagine. Thanks for the stay!! 05 January 2017 - 04:06:00

We stayed 7 nights on our first visit to New York, after staying midtown earlier in our trip. Our check-in and check-out was smooth, Jake even tried to accommodate our early arrival. The apartment was as described, very clean, and was well supplied with linen and towels, and a comfortable bed in a quiet building. Subway was a 2 minute walk, plenty of good restaurants and a convenience store nearby; and walking distance to China Town and Little Italy, etc. First impressions of the neighborhood were a little concerning, however look beyond that and you can immerse yourself and really feel like you are truly experiencing this vibrant city, we felt safe and comfortable 24/7. And as mentioned in other reviews, the sirens and horns are a reality of this city, and provided some entertainment from our window, whilst admiring the Empire State Building in the distance. 07 November 2016 - 23:53:00

We had a wonderful stay at Jake's apartment, right in the middle of city life. Great bars and restaurants around the corner. 13 February 2016 - 08:40:00

This apartment was perfect. The location was awesome, so many good eats right around the corner and great bars! There was also a subway station one block down which made getting around a breeze. Decent sized apartment and much bigger than any hotel room in NYC. The only down side was being on a busy street there was a lot of noise and difficult to get to sleep, but hey, that's NYC for you and to be expected! Jake's communication was fine and gave us all the details we needed before our arrival so everything went smoothly. Thanks for your great apartment Jake! We had the best time and love the lower east side! 14 January 2016 - 02:02:00

This apartment was absolutely perfect for our week long stay in NYC! It was so clean and had everything you could possibly need. The view was awesome at night and the Christmas lights were an added bonus. My son who attended NYU and currently resides in the financial district came by and said Mom how did you find this great place in such a hip location? The owner is so easy to work with and provides you with all the information you need. There are a ton of markets, restaurants, shopping, Little Italy, China town and subway access within blocks of the apartment. Gao Tacos are right next door and so yummy. A Chinese restaurant around the corner on Allen St was amazing. As for Italian food Lombardi's had the best pizza! Shake Shack has awesome burgers. We were there during the Macy Parade which is a must see if you get the chance. Also, if you can catch a show the Rockettes are amazing. Remember that New York is the city that never sleeps. They love to honk their horns...which you will get used to! This place is worth every penny while visiting NY. We will definitely be back. 03 December 2015 - 04:46:00

We really enjoyed our time in Jake's apartment. It was the perfect location and bigger than a hotel room. We enjoyed living like a local. It is a bit expensive for the size of the place, but I'd recommend it to other families of 4. Go to the tenement museum for sure...it's around the corner. I would give it another star if it was a bit less expensive. Still...it was fun. 24 July 2017 - 20:53:00

This was the perfect unit for three adult women having a girl's trip to NYC. Really, really close to all subways, but also close and pleasant walks to china town, little Italy, NYU and surrounding areas. The unit is as described and in pics. Unit large enough to sleep three adults comfortably, and the bathroom is pleasantly large, as is the full size kitchen. The unit is on the 5th floor with an elevator. The owner, Jake, was pleasant to work with. He provides detailed instructions that are easy to follow and he made himself available for all my questions. I'm definitely staying at Jake's again in the future. 22 November 2016 - 05:01:19

If you're lucky, Jake will not be using his wonderful apartment so that he can rent it to you while you're visiting NYC! It rained a lot the week we were there, but we felt safe and snug in this open and cheery home away from home. We loved walking around the neighborhood and finding little out of the way places to eat (like The Himalaya Restaurant) and we were so close to public transportation that we had absolutely no trouble getting anywhere in the city in record time. At first we had to get used to the outside traffic noise five stories below us (and yes, there is an elevator, which is a blessing). But that was such a small, small price to pay for feeling like we were really in the thick of things. Plus, the night view from our windows of the lit Empire State Building gave me goosebumps! Thank you, Jake, for making our NYC visit so much better than it would have been had we stayed any where else! 15 April 2014 - 19:59:12

Honestly, I don't wanna give this place a good review because I'm afraid it's gonna be booked up the next time we visit the city! Just kidding...this location couldn't be better. Subway stop just a couple of blocks away, great eats all within walking distance. The only flaw I could find would be the traffic noise from the street but hey, grab some earplugs and you'll sleep like a baby. Actually, you don't even notice it after awhile. This apartment was really comfy and clean, we didn't mind just hangin out there when we were tired. Starbucks right across the street was a plus! Thanks Jake! I'm gonna recommened you to all my friends who go up for a visit :) 12 November 2014 - 03:08:47

What a great apartment. We booked it for my first trip to NYC so we could live like locals. This apartment was perfect! Pictures are accurate and we were very impressed with how clean the apartment was. Getting keys was really easy and we didn't need assistance from the owner during our stay because everything went so smoothly. There was some street noise but we anticipated that and brought earplugs. Subway stop was two blocks away and the grocery store next door was perfect for quick meals on the go. Goa Tacos downstairs had great late night dinner food and they serve brunch on weekends. Entire experience was great and it all started with this fabulous apartment--thank you!! 06 November 2015 - 00:06:03

Great base for living like a local and exploring the Village bars and eateries - try the Berkli Parc across the street for brunch. We didn't meet Jake but the apartment had everything we needed, good view, well-maintained. Communication was good, would recommend. 11 January 2017 - 13:03:51

I have to give a 5 star review for Jakes apartment because I am beyond satisfied and I'm so glad I chose his apartment! I just arrived home after spending 6 days in Jakes apartment. I have to say that this apartment is in the most perfect location possible! We were within minutes walking distance to train stations, as well as just a short walk into Chinatown and Little Italy. It was the perfect size and again, location, PHENOMENAL! Jake was a great host although he couldnt make it for us to meet him in person, he used a key service for us to pick up and drop off our keys which was literally just a block down the street and easy to use, with friendly staff (as an added bonus, for $10 per bag they will hold your bag for you all day, if you arrive way before your check in time, so this was very convenient for us considering our plane arrived WAY earlier than expected). Jake responded to my texts within a reasonable amount of time if I had a question, and he gave me a great recommendation of restaurants. I would love to stay in Jakes apartment every time I visit New York! Choose this apartment and you will not be disappointed :) 15 November 2017 - 03:21:00

This apartment clean, comfortable and the location is great. There are thoughtful touches throughout that make you feel at home rather than in a hotel. The kitchen is spacious and well-stocked. The bed is super comfy as well as the couch. This part of town is fun, buzzy and exciting with lots to see, do, eat and drink. Love it.. will definitely be back. 06 November 2017 - 19:56:00

The apartment had all we needed! But unfortunately the traffic noise is relentless. If you are a light sleeper its probably not the best. But close to the subway and Essex market. Jake is very friendly & obliging! Good view of the top of the Empire State bldg! 08 October 2017 - 01:10:00

My husband and I enjoyed our time in Jake's apartment! Loved the view....spent time just looking out the windows watching the activity below. It was nice to have the option of cooking dinner or going out and we did both! Invited our daughter over who lives in NYC...it was nice to have her over for dinner along with her boyfriend. It felt like home. Jake was great in accommodating an early key pick up on our day of arrival since our plane came in at 5:30 am. Very convenient so we didn't have to figure out what to do with our luggage in the meantime. Everything went smoothly. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to spend time in the heart of the city! And, I'd recommend taking in a tour or two at the Tenement Museum which is nearby! One of my favorite sites to visit while in NYC, so I was delighted to find out the apartment was so close to it. Thanks Jake for the thought you have put into making your place a great place to stay while visiting NYC! 15 February 2017 - 07:14:00

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. Our host was very kind and thoughtful. The views were beyond belief especially of the Empire State Building at night with endless changing bright colors. We felt we were a part of the sky as flocks of birds soared delightfully right past our floor to ceiling windows. It was a wonderful experience staying in such a location. We just wanted to sit there taking it all in. The Essex Market was a couple af blocks down and so much fun for getting the feel of the city. Many different vendors offering all manner of foods and goods...very interesting and wonderfully helpful. We eat organic as much as possible and we found everything we needed especially with Emily and her daughter. The people in the apartment building were so helpful. The elevator was a definate plus as was having a washer and dryer in the building. Nice hardwood floors, very comfortable bed, great TV, full frig with thoughtful snacks, etc left inside. Deliveries right to the door...cabbies arrive at a moments notice. We say this was so well organized by Jake, our host, that it ran perfectly. The only thing we regret is we forgot to get a photo of the Empire State Building lit up at night. We will get it for sure next time. Thank you Jake for the best abode yet. P.S Jake even had a cool surfboard in the corner and my husband is a surfer. You can't lose on this great stay. We cannot wait to visit again...mesmerizing views. 03 January 2018 - 10:23:00

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Jake's apartment and it was excellent. The reviews from prior renters were spot on. The apartment is clean and gives you plenty of room to spread out, beats a hotel room any day. The building is quiet and we never heard any noise of people walking above us or in the neighboring apartments. Everything from coffee to spices and toilet paper are there. The views from the many windows are just beautiful. The bed is comfortable and there are ample blankets for those chilly nights. As to be expected, the nighttime honking and noise were present but we bought ear plugs which helped. The apartment is close to two subway stations, one being about 600 feet away. These are main lines so there is no having to switch trains to get anywhere. We bought an unlimited weekly pass for $32 and it was a great way to travel. There are many delicious restaurants in the area surrounding the apartment, just walk a block or two and you have your choice of every type of food imaginable. The burgers at Hair of the Dog were the best we have ever eaten. There is a pie store about 200 feet from the apartment that sells from scratch pie that is to die for. A whole foods is about 1/2 a mile away and a 24 hour grocery is in the next block. The key pickup is a wonderful company about a block away, City Co Pilot, and you can leave your bags there for $10 each after or before checkout/in. We did it both days and it was great if you have a later flight. 12 December 2017 - 14:40:00
