About listing

The house is located inside the famous Harrods Depository on the banks of the Thames in Barnes, one of London's most exclusive areas. The newly-refurbished house has 5 bedrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 10 people, and features a large designer kitchen with the latest professional appliances (a treat for any chef!), dining area & lounge, living room, and study area, as well as a secluded private garden, and a roof terrace with beautiful views on to the historic development. Popular with celebrities looking to break away from the spotlight, this is also the perfect retreat for those looking to hold a special event or private meeting, or families who want to experience London as a local, away from the hustle & bustle of the city while being only minutes away from its centre! Guest Access Guests will have the full house to themselves, including the private garden and roof terrace. As well as use of everything in the house (e.g. fast WiFi, televisions, Nespresso machine, computer), guests will have access to the leisure centre, which features an indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym, sauna and steam room. Interaction with Guests Property Manager - Mohammed I am currently travelling and exploring the world, so mohammed is helping to manage the property. He will be the one to respond to you, meet you upon arrival and look after you during your stay. We can organise transportation for you to and from the house, as well as making any other travel arrangements throughout your stay. We understand that many of our guests want to relax, so we try not to disturb you during your stay. But if you have any questions or issues, we are always just a phone call / message away, and are more than happy to help at any time. And if you have any special requests - such as grocery shopping or even a fantastic private chef who cook up a sensational meal for a special occasion - please just ask! Most requests can be satisfied: we'll certainly do our best! The Neighbourhood Barnes is one of London's best kept secrets. It feels like you're in the countryside, even though you are just minutes away from both the airport and Cental London! The house is located in a gated development with plenty of green recreational areas. Upon passing through the main gates (just after a beautiful domed fountain), you will immediately appreciate the tranquility and beauty of the development, which has direct access on to the banks the Thames (perfect for a morning jog down to Hammersmith or Putney!). All the residents and staff are very friendly: there's a real sense of community here. There are some lovely local delis, coffee shops, restaurants, a local grocery stors, hairdressers and even nail & beauty salons - all within a 5-minute walking distance of the house. While Barnes is renowned for being one of the greenest and most peaceful parts of London, once you cross Hammersmith Bridge towards Hammersmith (a short walk from the house), London's famous bars, theatres, nightclubs and great parks such as Holland Park, Hyde Park and Kensington palace are only about 15-20 minutes via local transport. There is also easy access to other Royal parks such as Richmond Park and Hampton Court, and of course Twickenham Stadium for the rugby, as well as The All England Lawn Tennis Club for Wimbledon. Chelsea and Fulham Football club are also less than 2 miles away. Getting Around On exiting the development, you can either take a bus (every 2 mins) over Hammersmith Bridge, from where you have access to 3 different underground (Tube) lines - the District, Piccadilly and Hammersmith & City underground - as well as buses, which go all over London. The house is located about 25 minutes from Heathrow by taxi (we can organise transportation to and from the airport if required). Or if you're travelling with your own car, there is 1 available car parking space in front of the house. House Rules We always show consideration for our guests and ask for mutual consideration to keep the house clean and tidy: - No pets in the house - No smoking in the house - Please warn about guests not on booking - No events in the house prior to agreement with us, please. - No more than 4 people may use the leisure centre at one time. - Strictly no house parties...this will result in immediate removal Please note: all our guests must sign a standard rental agreement, fill out a damage deposit form and provide a copy of photo ID upon check-in. Those guests wishing to use the leisure centre must also sign a health & safety form.

Eight of us from the States, 2 men and 6 women, enjoyed the house very much. It was a good jumping off base for all the London sights with the District Line. The house is appointed beautifully and tastefully. The kitchen supplied us with everything we needed to cook. This is a vacation home so we would not have expected to have such a completely stocked kitchen. The crockery and glasses were of such quality that we paid special attention to handling them. After we Googled the replacement costs we went to TK Maxx to buy cheap wine glasses to use in place of the beautiful glasses. We were very comfortable coming "home" every night. Some used the pool facilities and raved about the condition. The only changes I would offer are: more hairdryers with outlets next to a mirror (6 women), and the use of beach towels for the pool. Joselle was helpful in all ways needed. I contacted here a couple of times and she responded immediately. Most importantly the beds were very comfortable in every room we used. It is a solid 5 stars and I would not hesitate to use it again. 05 June 2017 - 16:10:00

This house is on 4 floors; be prepared for stairs! The kitchen/living space has ample room for everyone and the patio offers a very natural and quiet area to congregate in good weather with the patio doors opening the entire width of the kitchen. The king-bedroom on the 2nd Floor with bathroom and separate living room opposite does not have its own closet, but there are 2 closets in the Master bedroom on the 3rd floor. On the 4th floor is a glass-walled bedroom with private rooftop balcony/patio, with beautiful views. During our May visit the stairwell and 4th Floor room is very hot, despite an A/C unit in the room. The gated private Harrods Village community is within 5 minutes proximity to bus stops, a Tesco Express (for all your essentials), The Bridge pub (highly recommend) and excellent San Remo italian eatery. King Street and Hammersmith Station offer plenty of other shopping (Krispy Kreme and sweet-vendors) conveniences nearby. The tube is a leisurely 15 minute walk and in the rain, use the Gett app to call for cabs. You may find some black cabs available on the main road, but I found it more reliable to "order" one. For car rental, King Street has an Enterprise location. Call and ask to do the pickup/dropoff service which is not advertised on their website. While close/convenient to the House, their service is not as fast as airport-outlets so a pickup/drop off might be faster. The house has a printer so you can easily print out your theatre tickets (highly recommend Wicked!), Euro Tunnel and boarding passes etc. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this house. Make sure the bedroom setup works for your party. 1st Floor (Ground Floor) has single-size day-beds w/toilet; 2nd Floor has a King bed w/shower/tub & toilet (no Closet) with separate living room across the hall; 3rd Floor has King Bed master (shower, bath & toilet and 2 closets) with two single day-beds across the hall with a shower & toilet en suite. The 4th Floor has Queen-bed (no bathroom) and will be much warmer than other bedrooms in the summer months. Loved the location, proximity to Heathrow, Hammersmith Station - only 30 minutes to St Pancras for Eurostar. If you do travel to Paris get The Big Bus tour tickets near Gare du Nord. Research before you go. It costs around 28 Euros from Gare du Nord to the Eiffel Tower which is unecessary. 23 June 2017 - 16:38:00

The luxury family friendly house with 5 bedrooms was just that - very family friendly. We had lots of room for 3 generations to spread out with 2 TVs and plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen is especially nice, and we used it twice to fix dinner at home for the children. The air conditioning was a life saver, as it was 90F on the day we arrived. However, all the bedrooms are not air conditioned, leaving one with the choice of who gets to sleep in a sauna. Luckily, it cooled down and even rained a few days later. It is quite a ways from town, so it took at least 40 minutes by tube to get to our destination, and we didn't want to leave early as there was the rush hour to contend with. The house is lovely and the area is quite nice. Would I book so far out of town again? I don't know. Also, there are some details that could make the stay easier. There needs to be a place to hang the bath towels. There needs to be hooks in the bath to hang toiletry bags. There was lots of counter space, but the showers are small. It would be nice to have a chest of drawers so one could unpack and not live partly out of a suitcase. On the other hand, it was very comfortable and the children were very happy. If the distance to town doesn't bother you, then this would be an excellent home base while in London. 21 July 2017 - 20:29:00

Could have summer quilts on beds, but other than that a really lovely property to stay in. We were a family party and had lots of space to gather/or be apart as a group. 28 July 2017 - 11:30:00

My family of six stayed in this wonderful place for a summer vacation of several days. It is A gated community. The rooms are very nice. The living space flowed beautifully for our family, with an open arrangement between the kitchen and the living area. I would not hesitate to visit this location again. Also, access to the athletic facility in the community area was a very nice bonus. 10 August 2017 - 13:57:00

This has got to be one of the best London deals available on VRBO! I stayed here for 5 days with my wife and 2 kids (4 and 5 y.o), while on a business trip. The photos online really don't do justice to the place - it is in excellent condition, and looks even better in real life. There was plenty of space for us all (comfortable beds, fresh sheets, amenities), and I particularly liked the stylish kitchen/lounge area and private garden. Access to a large indoor pool, sauna and steam room was a very pleasant surprise for the wife and kids, who used it every day while I was away at meetings. I myself used the gym, which is very well equipped, on most mornings. I had never been to Barnes before, but now see why so many celebrities have properties here - it's so close to all the action, but at the same time so safe and peaceful. But the best part of the trip was the hosts - Dimitri and Ilya say they are passionate about hospitality, and these guys really mean it! They organised a car to pick us up from the airport, filled up the fridge with our favorite groceries (I sent them a big list just 1 day before our arrival), and even gave us a quick tour of the area. They visited us several times to make sure everything was OK. When my wife had trouble operating the washing machine, they came round and showed her how to do it. We had to have an early dinner the on the final day (very early flight the following morning), so they organised a fabulous dinner for us right inside the house! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Whether a family trip or a romantic getaway, forget the stuffy, overpriced London hotels - this should be your number one place to stay in London (it certainly is mine now)! Regards from NY from Mike, Sarah and the kids. 13 June 2015 - 18:57:57

It was our first try to stay in the private home instead of hotel and I may say it worth! This property is certainly ten times better than any hotel in London can offer for the family of 5, including my wife, 3 kids and me. It took us just 20 minutes to get to Harrods Village from Heathrow. This is unbelievable development on the River Thames, gated, fully secured, very green and quiet. There is a good gym, sauna and sizeable swimming pool with Jacuzzi in the Leisure centre with no people in it. House itself is very new, clean and cosy, with large modern Miele kitchen fully equipped with all necessary equipment and stuff for cooking, eating and drinking. We had also large sitting room, 4 bedrooms and a patio on the top floor with nice view. Fully openable door from the kitchen to nicely maintained garden makes you feeling like in a country side while you are close to the city centre. Very convenient location: nearest tube is Hammersmith, just 10 mins to walk or 5 mins to drive over Disneyworld-looking Hammersmith bridge. Our special thanks to young hosts Ilya and Dmitry who organized our pick up from airport, welcomed on check in giving us an extensive tour through Harrods Village and surrounding area (great pleasure to walk there) and left a lot of food, snacks, drinks and berries in the fridge for children and adults. They provide a butler-like service and enjoy helping their guests in all means. Again, it was unforgetable stay and we certainly recommend this place to all our friends. Will come again soon. 13 June 2015 - 22:57:12
  9. Stayed at this magnificent townhouse in very close to all of London's main attractions with my family. There were 4 adults and my 6 year old daughter. The townhouse had a beautifully appointed new kitchen. The house was very spacious, and well appointed. It was even air conditioned which was a huge bonus for the heat wave that London was experiencing. There was ample room for parking, but a car wasn't necessary. The facilities are amazing with a gym and a pool and sauna room within a 30 second walk. The best part of this place were the hosts, they really cared about our comfort and went above and beyond to ensure our time in London was relaxing and enjoyable. From arranging pick ups, and airport transfers. They even stocked the fridge when I emailed them a grocery list, and provided more. Thank you so much for this, truly made our stay memorable! 07 July 2015 - 14:05:34

I booked this accommodation to celebrate my wife's 30th birthday. As a large family (2 adults + 5 children) sourcing suitable accommodation can be difficult. This place is perfect...a beautiful house in a lovely setting, and we all enjoyed the on site pool and spa facilities. It exceeded our expectations and was the perfect base for our family weekend in London. Iliya (Dmitry's brother) was the perfect host - nothing was too much trouble. He was there to welcome us and showed us around the "village", offered to arrange dinner and so on, and again was on hand to see us off. We will definitely be booking this again for our next family trip to London. I would not hesitate to recommend this to my family, friends...and you!! 12 July 2015 - 22:12:53

We are a family of 5 with 3 little boys aged 8, 5 and 2. We stayed in this beautiful home for a week in August when other accommodation fell through. Firstly - the service provided by Dmitry and Iliya was second to none. My older boys could not stop raving about how kind and friendly they were. They arranged taxis for us, gave us recommendations on local eateries and were happy to help with anything we needed. Everything you could possibly need was in the home. They provided all bathroom necessities, stocked the fridge with water, soft drinks and provided all cleaning necessities. They had thoughtfully filled the freezer with ice for us and the coffee maker with fresh water - thoughtful little touches that made us feel totally at home. The location was brilliant with a pool and grassed area within the community which meant we could easily take the boys out for a run around or swim. Then there was a lovely walk along the river either to the Hammersmith bridge or to a playground, Barnes Common. Also really close to the London Wetland Centre which was fabulous to take kids to. The house itself was beautiful - a huge gorgeous kitchen, lovely large, bright bedrooms, a spacious longue, a nice garden with outdoor seating and lovely modern bathrooms. Washer/dryer was modern and easy to use. The house was immaculately clean. Lots of storage space in wardrobes etc if you are staying for longer periods. I genuinely cannot recommend this home highly enough. We have stayed in many places in London and this one was by far and away the best service we have EVER received. Thank you Dmitry and Illiya for a wonderful stay. 07 September 2015 - 15:16:41

Dmitry and Iliya were perfect hosts and I look forward to staying with them again. The house is incredibly spacious, complete with everything you would need and between the both of them, your every wish is covered. I was very impressed at how polite, efficient and prompt they were. They set up pick up services for us, picked up groceries, helped when I needed assistance and were quick to respond to any question. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay and service like this doesn't exist anymore. Very very pleased with this choice. 14 September 2015 - 19:32:57

The house is beautiful and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is high spec and very well kitted out. Mohammed was a pleasure to deal with and was only a phone call away to answer any questions etc... 23 October 2017 - 10:56:00

A Newbie to VRBO, I needed somewhere to accommodate visiting family on a trip home from the USA. Have to say the pool was a big factor as the 3 & 7 year olds love to swim. I had no idea just how much help our hosts would be and how they genuinely wanted to make our stay as easy and pleasurable as possible. We came to rely on them for transport and information quite a bit and they encouraged us to count on them. They are the ultimate hosts! The property is of course just wonderful, everything you need and so much more. The weather was perfect so we enjoyed the delightful garden while the children played. It's in a great location. Nice walk to the pub, or Sips & Bites just across the street. The Depot is a fantastic restaurant 2 miles down the river. I could go on and on. Gorgeous house, great location, fantastic hosts, can't wait to go back! Thank You! 23 October 2015 - 13:07:10

Excellent hosts, everything we required was taken care of. We asked for a few things to be stocked in the fridge before we arrived which was all available. Would 100% recommend house and hosts. 04 January 2016 - 14:08:32

This is a superb, modern and spacious accommodation option in London and especially good for large groups (in our travel party we had 4 adults, 5 kids). This condo unit has all the mod cons, access to pool etc (great for the kids). It is a great location, right on the Thames and just a short walk to Hammersmith tube station. Dmitry (owner) and Joselle (local contact) were excellent in helping us with our stay - very professional from reservation inquiry, through to meeting up with us upon arrival and following up with us after departure, plus they had excellent recommendations (local supermarkets, restaurants etc). We'd certainly stay there again. 06 August 2016 - 20:08:10

We had a group of 7 adults and 4 children (ages 1-8) and stayed for 3 nights. We had a wonderful time. We found that we had plenty of space and it looked exactly like the photos on the website. The house is in a beautiful location with excellent local restaurants. The property manager Joselle and the owner Dmitry were great. They were very helpful and responded quickly to any questions that came up. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. 14 September 2016 - 01:40:46

We so enjoyed our stay. We were made feel at home in this beautiful house. We loved the decor and the position of the house. Our hosts were so accommodating and gave so many excellent recommendations to us. I will definitely return to this home with my family and I highly recommend this accomdation as a base to visit London. The tube is only a 15 minute walk away and their are regular buses. The river is only a five minute walk away which has lots of great restaurants and pubs. Thank you so very much for such a fabulous stay 26 October 2017 - 09:08:00

Very quiet and secure. The only thing I would recommend is to have some stair treads placed. Two of us fell coming down, no serious injuries though. Will be back next year for another football game. Thanks!!! 07 November 2017 - 18:02:00
