About listing

The home is a wonderfully renovated modern farmhouse located on a boutique organic vineyard. As seen on CNN's "One Square Meter" - "Sipping in Sonoma", French TV's Echappelles Belles in Sonoma and San Francisco (begin at minute 19:40 on the video) and Total Bellas, Season 2, Episode 5. You will enjoy sweeping views of vines, luxuriously gardens and a 50' pool setting with a backdrop of the Mayacamas Mountains. This is the opportunity to experience wine country in your own private estate in a property that rivals the finest hotels. The garden and pool grounds were designed by a renowned landscape architect and offer fabulously inviting views with a 50' solar heated pool, propane heated spa and beautifully manicured lawn and garden. The home has four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, plus an outdoor heated shower. The home and the interior design is impeccable. The home is designed to maximize indoor-outdoor living, with a chef's kitchen, outdoor grill and entertaining area and indoor dining room with sweeping views. We spared no detail with the renovation and the home is luxurious, sleek and modern. The home is resort-like in furnishings and comfort, with high end bedding, towels and furnishings. NOTE about bookings: We require a 4 night minimum stay for weekend stays beginning November through May, except that: (i) there is a 5 night minimum for stays from June through October; and (ii) there is a 7 night minimum for major holidays, including the week of Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, the 4th of July and Labor Day. The holiday weeks described above will have a 7 night discounted rate of $8,000 (+ tax, cleaning and security). Two night mid-week stays are possible from January - March 15th on short notice and for visits less than one week in advance (short notice). The property is along a notable biking and sightseeing route and is about 4 miles to the Sonoma square. It is located in the midst of Carneros AVA wine region. We are in the process of obtaining a winery license and our artisan crafted Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon wines are produced nearby in Napa. Gundlach Bundschu, Scribe, Nicholson Ranch and other notable wineries are less than 2 miles away. Guests also like the proximity to Napa, which is about 15 minutes away. The house has four bedrooms and 4 ½ modern remodeled baths, as well as a separate outdoor heated shower. The large, modern well-appointed chef’s kitchen is center stage downstairs along with a dining room table that comfortably seats 12. A 50 x 15 solar-heated saltwater pool and spa with outdoor night lighting graces the outdoor view. There are two separate living rooms, including a media room with a large flat screen smart TV. The home is more than 3400+ feet on two levels but feels like a larger mansion because of its vaulted ceilings and views. There is an upstairs and downstairs master bedroom, both of which have generous, en suite bathrooms. There are two additional bedrooms (one with queen bed and the other with two twin beds that can be made into a king bed, if pre-arranged) and two separate full bathrooms. A modern, clean aesthetic was our goal in renovating the property. The house has abundant light with large sweeping doors and windows. There are a number of notable design features, including wood floors made from reclaimed Eucalyptus trees from the Presidio in San Francisco and dining room tables made from 1920s reclaimed cedar from the Cal Berkeley stadium. We have the first permitted gray water irrigation system in Sonoma valley and we are in the planning stages of a new vineyard planting of Chardonnay grapes. We provide ecologically friendly soap, shampoo and conditioners in the bathrooms, as well as hair dryers. The farmhouse is available for small groups of up to 10 guests who wish to enjoy the wine country in a more intimate setting than the Carneros Inn or other high-end resort. The grounds are spacious. Sorry, we can not permit weddings, parties or other types of events at the home. http://pluzz.francetv.fr/videos/echappees_belles_saison10_,129626927.html

4 couples stayed here and we could not have been happier with the house! The pictures do not do justice to how bright and open the home is. The home and grounds are immaculately maintained. The pool and hot tub were great after a day of tasting. Close enough to downtown Sonoma to be convenient, but far enough out to feel very private and secluded. The owner was very responsive and helpful. All in all - a great place. Can not recommend highly enough. We are hoping for a return trip someday and will hopefully get to stay here again! 06 October 2014 - 14:19:25

It is rare that a place exceeds expectations...but in this case this beautiful home was ideal in every way we hoped for: 1. Location - perfectly situated close to Sonoma Square but far enough away to feel intimate. TONS of wineries, restaurants and destinations a very near by. 2. Setting - Paradise. If you are looking for quiet solitude in the middle of a vineyard with sunrises and sunsets galore...this is the spot. 3. Amenities - From the heated pool and hot tub to all the kitchen equipment / materials you could ever need. We never felt in need of anything. Thanks, Carole for sharing your home with us...it felt like "our home" if only for a week! Can't wait to return... Rob and Julie 10 October 2016 - 14:36:00

My family (parents, husband, sister, and 2-year old son) spent a few days at this beautiful house over the Christmas holidays. Most places don't live up to their publicity photos, but this house does! Modern with huge windows, gorgeous vineyard views and plenty of light, the owners clearly put a lot of thought and love into this home. It was a perfect size for the six of us - we never felt like we were in anybody's way. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you would need to cook and clean up, etc... Actually we canceled our dinner reservations twice and decided to stay in, cook, and dine at the large dining table overlooking the vineyard. As promised the house was very clean, with comfortable beds and linens, nice towels, etc...It also had plenty of places to relax (tv nook, living nook, office space upstairs). We appreciated having access to the Sonos sound system, which allowed us to satisfy everyone's musical tastes. We didn't have a chance to enjoy the pool or hot tub as it was too cold. We did enjoy long walks and runs in the surrounding area, and appreciated the rustic beauty of our surroundings. Honestly we were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this place was and would have extended our stay if it wasn't booked right after us. We will return again in the summer or fall when we can enjoy the pool and backyard. This is truly a wonderful place to stay in wine country. 10 January 2016 - 23:50:00

7 of my family and friends and I stayed at this lovely home for 4 days. The property is gorgeous including a pool, spa, bocce court, and a bunch of vineyards. The home is very well maintained and perfect for large groups that want to cook and relax together. Carole (the owner) and Kathie (property manager) are both very kind and responsive. We will definitely come back! 18 February 2016 - 18:33:00

We were 4 retired couples renting this "4" bedroom house for a week in wine country. Two of the bedrooms had on suite bathrooms. The third bedroom had a bathroom right outside their door. The major issue was the 4th "bedroom". Instead of a solid wall with a door that closed, it was a 3 panel rolling 'barn door' wall. The result was no privacy when entering or exiting the room, echoing sound when anyone was downstairs due to the vaulted open ceiling over the kitchen, dining and common areas. In addition there was no attached bathroom therefore we either had to share a bathroom with another couple upstairs or go downstairs (through the kitchen/dining/common area) to a bathroom with a shower. It was a very inconvenient arrangement. On the upside there were gardens of vegetables that the homeowner encouraged us to enjoy. I would recommend renting this home if you need 3 bedrooms not 4. 21 November 2016 - 01:03:00

We loved staying in this amazing home during our sonoma/napa visit. This property is gorgeous and beautifully equipped for relaxing and enjoying wine country. I would come back again and again. 22 July 2017 - 01:39:00

We loved staying at Carol's place in Sonoma! We had a family vacation there and the whole family stayed in this beautiful home. We had a great time relaxing in the pool and enjoyed playing bocce in the court outside. The house is open with a lot of sitting areas and outside space. We had a great time! 27 September 2017 - 14:03:00

I was lucky enough to stay at this beautifully remodeled home in September of 2013, with my book club (there were 5 of us from all over the country). We had a wonderful time and are planning a trip back next year. The pictures do not do the home justice, it really is that beautiful - truly 5 star. The property is situated on a vineyard, in a great part of Sonoma's wine country. In September the grapes were getting ripe. We could see horses and cows walking in the distance, and although close to everything, it had a very private feel. The view from the house is spectacular. We especially enjoyed cooking in the gourmet kitchen, and swimming in the beautiful saltwater pool. We were able to drive to the Sonoma square for some shopping, and there are loads of wineries close by, including my favorite, Gundlach Bundschu (just down the road). The house came appointed with everything we could need from towels to cookware/coffee maker. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants true luxury in the Sonoma area. 30 October 2013 - 18:13:43

We stayed at this amazing vineyard estate called Coplandia for 3 nights from Nov. 1st to Nov. 4th and it was certainly an unbelievable place to stay. The house is situated on several acres of vineyards wih a sizable pool & spa and panoramic views of the vineyard beyond. I must say the home was very awe-inspiring with its indoor/outdoor lifestyle, tons of natural light, and very spacious & flexible layout with 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and many different sitting areas. Everything was brand new and immaculate, as it was just renovated. The open gourmet kitchen was unreal with an abundance of counter space and high-end appliances. We really enjoyed cooking in and eating outdoors and I especially loved cooking breakfast for everyone in the mornings while looking out the scenic window (located above the stovetop) to the side vineyards. The location of this residential property was ideal for us being in the NE border of Carneros region as the Sonoma square (with great restaurants and shopping) was only about a 5 minute drive and several wineries (Gundlach Bundschu & Scribe very near) were in close proximity. We also visited some of the Napa wineries as well since they were about 15 min. away. In the past, we have stayed at other locations further into the Sonoma valley and although we enjoyed those locations too we found ourselves driving quite a bit. So if you are looking for a more convenient location with less driving involved then I would highly recommend this place for location and especially for this luxurious home! We do wish we would have stayed here longer as we had no idea it would be this amazing of a place to stay. But at least we have something to look forward to next time we visit Coplandia. 06 November 2013 - 20:41:52

You do get what you pay at this rental... yes its pricey but its really nice! The open floor plan is great for small gatherings, kitchen has great appliances and there is an awesome outdoors space. Perhaps most importantly.. the house seems to have more windows and sliding doors than actual walls and I loved the abundance of natural light and inside/outside living. Other highlights are a sauna/shower in the master bedroom and a very nice jacuzzi. There a a lot of nice gadgets in the house and the owners have kindly prepared a book to explain them... however the book either needs some work or I have to really pay more attention because I couldn't find a lot of important details.... the most important facts (like how to roll back the pool cover or connect a devices to the Sonos) are drowning in self-evident facts about howto use them. Luckally the proprietor and the manager were both very responsive and the shortcomings of the manual were not a huge issue. 15 January 2014 - 16:40:45

I recently stayed in this beautiful home with my girlfriends to celebrate a milestone birthday. The property was beautiful and even more amazing than the pictures can show. The owner was helpful and very available to answer questions about the area and her home. We will definitely be back. Sonoma is a darling place with friendly helpful people everywhere. The restaurants were great and the wineries even better. There are several within walking distance and the countryside is so picturesque. I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate. This is one of the nicest properties I have been fortunate to stay in. 13 November 2014 - 15:39:31

This was a luxurious house in a lovely winery setting. The pictures do not do it justice as the view and setting is so picturesque. It's situated on 10 private acres, just a short drive from the Sonoma square. We had a group of 6 including 2 kids, and it was perfect. We had stayed at the Carneron Inn the last time we were in the area, and this is an amazing alternative as you are in Carmeros but have a beautiful pool, spa, and bocce court all to yourselves. The kids loved being in the pool, and we loved bbqing and being by the pool, amongst the vines, olive trees, and gardens. We also loved that it is a working vineyard! We love to bike and this location was great, as it was just a short ride to the square, but also close to many of the best routes in the area. We plan on coming back again next year and hopefully for years to come. 26 April 2015 - 05:08:09

Four couples stayed at this beautiful home in the southern Sonoma wine country (only about one hour from San Francisco). It is a new modern home and extremely clean and luxurious - particularly compared to other high end places we have stayed. It has a high-end kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. Special bonus: the house is surrounded by a vineyard and you have your own beautiful garden and private pool. It is in a quiet rural neighborhood but so close to great wineries, restaurants and the town of Sonoma. Also conveniently located to the Napa wine country. We will definitely rent this home again. 27 April 2015 - 23:32:41

This place is much more luxurious than we were expecting and the photos didn't capture how high end the property is. We've stayed at high end resorts like Auberge and Solage and Carneros Inn and this vacation made us realize that we could have our OWN PRIVATE RESORT instead of sharing it with hundreds of others. The kitchen and grounds were terrific for meals. We even opted to forego dinner reservations two nights as we wanted to hang out by the pool. We loved the rustic vineyard setting contrast to the very well manicured huge backyard and oil area... We will be back! 28 April 2015 - 06:05:10

My extended family (9 adults, plus 3 year old and infant) stayed for 4 nights in May and found it to be the perfect location for enjoying time together at the house and in the nearby Sonoma and Napa area. The setting is beautiful and well maintained, and a wonderful destination spot! We enjoyed the open layout of the house, its natural lighting, pool area outdoors, BBQ, cooking/eating meals together in the large kitchen/dining area, and the roomy sleeping areas and numerous bathrooms. We never felt like we were on top of each other; lots of space to spread out! We built lasting memories together and will definitely return in the future. Thanks for sharing your home! 20 June 2015 - 21:03:14

We were a family of five adults and a grandchild and stayed at the property for a week. I cannot say enough good things. The home is beautiful with every convenience at your fingertips. The setting was fantastic with beautiful grounds and superb views. The owner was extremely helpful prior to and during out stay. Located about 2 miles from Sonoma Square, the location was convenient to many destinations in the area. When staying here, you feel as if you are at a resort. 17 July 2015 - 02:05:57

Our family of 6 absolutely loved Carole's vineyard and home. We were comparing it to Carneros Inn and several other homes in the same price range and are so glad we settled on her place. It is meticulously kept, clean, updated, stocked, private, and luxurious. The master bath has heated floors and steam shower. The full house sound system plays Pandora in full stereo surround sound. The pool is sparkling and hot tub hot. The in-line gas grill made terrific burgers. Sonoma market and whole foods are nearby with every conceivable grocery item and local veggies/meats - a food lover's paradise. Picked up some great wines and enjoyed them on the back porch while the kids splashed and played in the pool - priceless! The views are absolutely amazing, we have a bunch of incredible pictures to blow up until we make it back again. Thank you Carole, your home is top notch 5 stars. 21 March 2017 - 20:40:00

We used Carols vineyard retreat over the 2016 Christmas and New Years Holidays as a Bay Area meeting spot for our family to get together. It's a perfect place to relax, entertain, and enjoy what the wine country has to offer. We will be back! 15 January 2017 - 18:25:00
