This place is run by a lovely family with love and attention to detail. Very service-minded and always ready to give you a tip on what to see or how to get there... The room we stayed in had everything you can expect from a good B&B; comfortable beds, private ensuite bathroom, high speed wi-fi, facilities to make tea or coffee in your room and even a private little garden(!). In the corridor outside there was a lot of guidebooks to borrow and a shelf of books for swapping. A big breakfast is served in the room by the very sweet landlady, ever the helpful guide to her city. The place is situated in the quaint neighborhood of Jordaan, a picture postcard pretty place with beautiful tranquil streets and canals. It has a laidback attitude about it, and the many restaurants and cafs are cool in the best sense of the word. Joordaan is a little outside of the city center, but still walking distance to all the main sights. In short; we loved staying here, and we gladly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a nice and personal accomodation in a charming part of central Amsterdam! 21 July 2011 - 21:16:21

Charlotte's B&B and Charlotte herself gave us a very pleasant welcome to Amsterdam. The B&B is centrally located, easy walking to many sites and Charlotte gave good directions to bus and tram routes for other sites as well as many tips and suggestions. The room was bright and cheery, very clean with lots of room for the very comfortable bed and breakfast table. Breakfasts were generous, delivered to just outside the bedroom door and the room itself had coffee making faciilties which were most welcome. There is no tv or internet but we were there to see Amsterdam so that was not a problem. 13 October 2011 - 22:07:09
  4. My husband and I stayed at the B & B Jordaan Oct 13-16th. Charlotte was helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We selected this B & B because of the proximity to the Anne Frank House, museums, and train station. We were so happy with our decision. The room was large, clean, beds were comfortable, breakfasts were delicious! Charlotte helped us find our way around and offered many suggestions. The taxi service she arranged for us at the end of the trip was also very good, taxi driver arriving in a suit, and such a reasonable fare. Sunshine in room every day. Also, Charlotte carried my luggage upstairs, which helped me with my bad back. She offered so much advice before we arrived also. We loved the neighborhood and abundant bakeries, restaurants. We enjoyed our trip and all that Amsterdam had to offer, and we liked our Canal Cruise also. Thank you Charlotte for a wonderful and memorable Amsterdam experience. 26 October 2011 - 18:33:55

My wife and I stayed here from Oct 10Oct 21, 2011. Great place. I use a regular wheelchair to get around (paraplegic) and the hosts were very helpful in providing measurements before I made reservations. It pleases me to say that the downstairs/ground-level room was spacious enough for me to get around and the bathroom worked well, too, in that it features a walk-in shower connected to the sink and toilet at the other end of the bathroom. No grab-bars or anything, but definitely do-able. There are few stairs (one to get in the house) and two to go down into the main bedroom, but the hosts provided a door that served as a ramp to get to down the two stairs since we were visiting for so long, which was extremely helpful and convenient. The bed was two twin beds pushed together to form a queen, which worked well. Plenty of storage for two huge suitcases and clothes. The main part of the room was easy to navigate in my chair. The hosts, Charlotte and Paul, were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. They definitely made our trip a lot of fun and quite convenient. All-in-all, if you're in a wheelchair, this place is definitely do-able, but it will take a little bit of patience and someone to help you up the front step (about 5-6" tall) and the "door-ramp" (if you're able to get that done for you) down the two stairs (makes for a tad of a steep ramp). All that said, it's more easily-accessible than most of the city's restaurants and shops, so at least you'll have an easy time "coming home" every night! 02 November 2011 - 05:41:40

Like having a friend in Amsterdam. Charlotte is very efficiient, very good at communicating and provided helpful information (including printing out my on-line ticket to the Concertgebouw) and advice on where to go, what to see, and where to eat. (All of her restaurant recommendations were excellent.) The neighborhood is charming, quiet, with hip cafes and boutiques sprinkled among the old homes. The room was spacious and very clean, the breakfast more than generous. Not the cheapest b&b in Amsterdam but you get what you pay for. Will definitely stay at B&B Jordaan on my next visit there. 21 January 2012 - 18:24:42

This is truly an oasis in the city of Amsterdam. Nestled on a quiet street in the Jordaan area is a B&B filled with charm. Our main floor bedroom/bathroom included a beautiful private garden accessible by glass garden doors. It's a sweet way to begin the day with coffee in bed looking out at the sun-filled garden. The area is too good to be true. Since there are no trams/canals in the immediate area you find yourself in a village full of awesome restaurants, galleries, boutiques and coffee shops. A short 10 minute walk will take you to the trams/canals. Our host greeted us each morning with a huge smile and an abundant breakfast tray with enough food for a family of six! We often made sandwiches for lunch. Any hint of what you may prefer is on the tray the following day. She also began each day by asking us if she could help in anyway or answer any questions. Once you give her an idea of your interests she is there with books, maps etc. She kindly photocopied maps of France for us for the next leg of our journey. Her route saved us hours and money for tolls. On top of this it was more scenic. She is a gem. I have nothing but great things to say..we felt like we were with friends...a home. 10 May 2012 - 00:24:03

This b&b is located in a quiet street in the Jordaan area and there are many small cafes and bars within a 5 minute walk from the apartment. The owner, Charlotte, was very professional to deal with when arranging the booking and was helpful with suggestions about places to eat and visit. The apartment is particularly convenient if visitors plan on visiting the Anne Frank Museum. I highly recommend booking the museum visit on-line to avoid the long queues. 20 June 2012 - 11:49:44

We were a party of 6 and had the pleasure of spending 3 evenings at the B&B Jordaan. The rooms were just as they were in the picture and very clean. The showers were awesome with plenty of hot water. Meeting Charlotte was a treat. She has all the information at hand for her guests. You can read her books or pamphlets or ask her anything you need to know. Her English is perfect. Our breakfast each morning was delievered to our room at exactly the time we requested. The food was fresh and enough to satisfy our hunger. The area is one of the better ones in Amsterdam. We were close to almost everything. The street is nice and quite and set back in from the main road for a good night rest. We all agreed that if/when we return the B&B will be where we stay. You certainly get the value for this great quality spot to spend your days/evenings. Thank you Charlotte for making our stay in Amsterdam a nice memory we will always treasure. B&B Jordaan is a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of sightseeing. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts of local cheeses, meat and bread are generous and hearty enough to keep you going until evening. Rooms are cheery and very affordable. Easy access to all areas of Amsterdam from this location. Would be happy to stay there again =) 13 February 2013 - 02:57:28

My boyfriend and I were on a weeklong vacation in Amsterdam and stayed at the B&B Jordaan. Charlotte put us in the ground floor garden roomif you're staying for more than a few days, book the garden room! It's sunny, has a table and chairs for eating outside, gets light all day long, and is floral and beautiful. Every morning Charlotte brought us a delicious Dutch breakfast, which consisted of a rotating menu of sliced meats, cheeses, yogurt or a hard boiled egg, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a selection of breads. We never had breakfast anywhere else, the food was so good. We had a french press for coffee and a tea kettle for tea that stayed in the room throughout our tripgood for me because I like tea all day long! Charlotte was beyond helpfulyou couldn't ask for more. She gave us a long list of delicious local restaurants, then pointed them out on a map so we could find our way. We were allowed use of the Amsterdam info books she kept on hand, and because we were kitchen adjacent, she even allowed us to keep some leftovers in the fridge. This is a place to stay when you want to feel at home! Most importantly, at least for me, was how helpful Charlotte was all around. I have a problem with my left sacroiliac joint, which falls out of place, causing one side of my body to be higher than the other, and resulting in constant pain. Unfortunately, after 3 days of walking in the wrong shoes, I threw out the joint worse than I have ever done before. We told Charlotte, and she immediately called her manual therapist (Chiropractor, for the Americans), who was unfortunately away on vacation. The office suggested sending me to some freshly graduated medical students, and Charlotte said absolutely notI needed someone with experience. Within a day I had an appointment with the manual therapist who works on the Dutch National Ballet Company. I was fixed within a day, and I truly believe had I stayed anywhere else, I would have , I would have either been waiting in an emergency room for an entire day, or suffered through the rest of the trip in painnever mind the 8-hour plan ride back home. Charlotte saved my vacation! We've already told Charlotte we will be back next year, & plan on it. B&B Jordaan truly felt like home, and suffice it to say, it was very difficult for us to leave. The beds were incredibly comfortable; the room was cool, clean, and private; the neighborhood is a family neighborhood with lots of kids, nice antique shops, bakeries, restaurants. 02 July 2013 - 19:17:09

B&B Jordaan is perfect in every way! We spent 5 nights and loved every minute. The rooms are perfect. We had both rooms on the first floor. The room with the bunk beds was perfect for our two grandchildren and us to share! The breakfasts were delicious and delivered to our room. Every day, they were slightly different and always more than enough to fill you up for a busy day of sight seeing. Charlotte's tourist information was invaluable! Everyday, when deliverying our breakfast, Chatlotte would inquire about our plans for the day. She gave us suggestions of places to see and the best way to get to the sight. You can not go wrong staying at B&B Jordaan! 06 June 2015 - 15:51:50

We were a group of 11, and they were very accommodating for such a large group. Nice, comfortable beds and great breakfast served to us in the mornings. Very centrally located, and Charlotte was very communicative and provided tons of great tips. I highly recommend. 31 October 2017 - 11:31:00

The B&B could not have been in a more perfect location; just off the beaten track for some authentic local eateries, bars etc, yet near enough to the action and excitement of the centre of Amsterdam when needed! It was lovely and quiet, and the place was clean and very homely. We enjoyed our stay very much - I certainly won't need to look anywhere else for a stay in the city next time. Charlotte was wonderful, and even when one of our party effectively lost the keys, she did not get mad and we resolved the issue amicably and without fuss. I cannot recommend B&B Jordaan highly enough! :) 01 November 2017 - 15:45:00

I was disappointed that my family did not have all the amenities of staying in this home. The description was misleading. Not only were they not offered breakfast on the weekend there was no kitchen or even refrigerator for them to have a few meals at home, which made it difficult while traveling with young children. 19 December 2017 - 12:22:00
