Always wanted to live like a Parisian and found this wonderful apt with great reviews on VRBO. This is a charming, well kept pied a terre almost across from the Louvre and very centrally located to visit all the attractions, restaurants and access to the metro. It's great to have that much space to lounge around and spread out as compared to a hotel room. Nearby bakery, fruit market, delicatessen, drug store to satisfy all your needs. Serge is very helpful and acommodating. The only draw back is being on the 4th floor ( 5th floor in US) and it got a tiring on 72 year old knees, especially after a long day to sightseeing or coming home late at nite. But very comfortable and convenient, well maintained, very worth staying at. 23 July 2012 - 00:12:38

My boyfriend and I stayed in the apartment for two weeks over the holiday season and cannot say enough wonderful things about the apartment and about Serge. It was absolutely perfect - everything about our experience. We were in the perfect location for all the things we like to do. We were there to visit Laurent's family in and near Paris as well as to visit friends in Nice/Monaco and the Netherlands. It was great to return home - to Paris after each short trip. We cooked a couple of large meals in the apartment and the kitchen was perfect! We enjoyed the very large tub every evening after a long day of walking in the City. Serge was wonderful and took very good care of us. I highly recommend this apartment and Serge's hospitality cannot be beaten. 07 January 2013 - 17:03:43

The minute we walked into this cozy large apartment, we felt right at home. The old style of high ceilings, large windows, hardwood floors was cleverly mixed in with the renovated bathroom and kitchen. By the end of our two week stay, we felt like true Parisians, visiting the shops and restaurants nearby. The location was ideal - close to The Louvre and the Seine. We walked to a different neighbourhood each day and when tired, took the city buses which is a great way to see all of Paris. Serge was very helpful for all our needs, showing us the bakery, grocery stores and restaurants. When we arrived, he was at the apartment to show us how everything worked. He even took our luggage upstairs. There is no elevator but climbing the stairs up to the 4th floor was invigorating. We loved the challenge so much we climbed the Eiffel tower (to the second level) and the Arc de Triomphe. We went to several restaurants that Serge recommended and loved them. We loved the free phone calls to the U.S. and Canada as well as the other amenities. Nothing was left out. We thoroughly loved this apartment and would stay here again. We would like to thank Serge for a wonderful two weeks in Paris. 10 June 2013 - 19:23:22

We just left Paris yesterday after spending 9 days at Serge's apartment on Rue de Louvre. It was everything we expected and more. Very spacious, wonderfully furnished with all the comforts of home. The location was terrific within blocks of the Louvre, the river and many great eating spots. Although located on a very busy street the bedroom in the back of the apartment was extremely quite and we had no trouble sleeping in late. You should be aware that this is a fifth floor walk up via stairs but we had no problem climbing or descending each day. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything needed for morning coffee, snacking or even a full meal. Serge was a wonderful host meeting us upon arrival and helping us tote our bags up the stairs. He was very helpful throughout our stay responding quickly to email questions. He even offered to go with us to purchase train tickets which we were having trouble securing via the internet. The internet service in the apartment was also easy to access and very fast. We have rented apartments in other cities and this is one of the best experiences ever. I highly recommend it. 08 October 2013 - 10:35:43
  6. Steps away from the metro and an easy walk to The Louvre, this charming apartment is the perfect retreat after busy days exploring Paris. The decor is wonderfully chic and comfortable....there are even flowers growing in the window boxes. Kitchen is well equipped whether you just want breakfast or prepare a complete meal. The bath/bedroom is modernjust perfect for two. WIFI is reliable and fast; six channels on cable have American news/programming. Serge was a wonderful, welcoming host. So responsive on email prior to our trip and his orientation upon our arrival was complete and helpful. We loved the list of restaurants and all the detailed tourist information he provided. The boulangerie around the corner delighted us with croissants and breakfast items. Dont miss the great pizza and crepes at the cafe on the corner of Rue de Rivoli. Renting Serges apartment was the best decision we made and we hope to return soon. 16 June 2014 - 00:03:17

My two sisters and I arrived by taxi on a weekday afternoon, and there was Serge, the owner, waiting outside the building to greet us. Our 5 days/nights there were like walking into a book about Paris. The place is not huge, but every inch of space is touched with Parisian charm. While the building is aged, my temporary home :-) was clean and picturesque. Serge brought in a roll-away bed and put it in the living room so the third person could sleep there v. the leather sofa. He warned that daylight that would stream through the large L/R window announcing morning but, actually, it was beautiful yet soft enough not to wake a hard sleeper. (Or, just bring your eye mask.) Morning noise from the street was minimal, although the early opening auto garage near the back side was noisier (still, not unbearable); consider this the hum that makes inner city living what it is. If you're from the States, think typical NYC apartment, with cool/thoughtful amenities: washer (no dryer, but a drying rack), electronic adapters, HOT water, nice bathroom, hair dryer, wifi, free int'l calls (at least that was the case for the U.S.), books on Paris/the culture/language translations/dining recommendations, and - just a phone call away - one of the best/most resourceful hosts ever. Be prepared for the winding staircase which is, I think, 72 steps to the apartment. (Hint: pack light, not like an American tourist.) But, if you get hooked on the divine Nutella and banana crepes from street vendors, each of those steps is a blessing! Wear your walking shoes because from this location you can easily get to great landmarks/shops/cafes/arrondissements within 10-30 minutes. I'd be happy to stay here again! 29 November 2014 - 20:55:14

My husband and I just got back from spending one delightful week in Serge's apartment. Everything was ready for us when we arrived. The apartment was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Everything is comfortable, and nothing is worn out. Many thoughtful details -- coffee, soap, shampoo, guide books, and restaurant recommendations, etc., were provided. Free cable, wi-fi, and international phone calls are a big plus! Serge lives very close by and is friendly and quickly responds to all questions. The neighborhood has EVERYTHING you could possibly want within just a few steps as well as great Metro service. The stairs will be very demanding for those in less-than-optimal shape. We didn't have a problem, but people considering renting this property should keep this in mind. 04 January 2015 - 20:31:37

We just returned from 9 nights in Serge's wonderful apartment in Paris and we were very comfortable and happy there! My husband had been a bit wary of renting an apartment initially, but once we saw it he agreed that it was a great way to go, so much better than a hotel. At the end of a day of walking your feet off it was especially nice to have that big tub for soaking, and with a tankless water heater, there was plenty of hot water. In spite of being on a busy street, it is uncannily quiet in the bedroom...I mean *silent*, which made for great sleeping. In addition to its convenient location, staying here allowed us to experience the charm of an apartment in a gracious, older Parisian building, which really added to the fun. As others have noted, you'll need to be able to climb stairs (87 of 'em...but who's counting ;-) ) but after all the bread and pastries we picked up around the corner, we were glad for the extra exercise! Serge is very friendly and helpful. I'll be recommending this place to friends traveling to Paris. :-) 01 May 2015 - 16:00:23

My wife and I have been privileged to only stay at 4 and 5 star hotels over the past 30 years, but were persuaded to try VRBO by some friends who had a positive experience with renting an apartment instead of another hotel stay. We found what looked to be comfortable apartment in a great location just steps from the Louvre and most other City of Paris attractions, so we took a chance. Can't tell you how glad we are that we did. Not only is this delightful, spacious apartment charming and extremely well appointed in a location that can't be beat, it comes with an owner/manager who couldn't be more helpful, responsive or considerate of his tenants, who he treats as valued guests. The owner lives here himself during the winter months and the fact that this is a home and not just a rental shows in the great eclectic style of the apartment and in its upscale finishes and furnishings. If you want a deluxe experience in a quant super convenient, safe and walkable upscale Paris location, this apartment will surprise and delight even the most seasoned world traveler. We can't say enough about this fabulous experience except to say we will returning to VRBO for our next vacation plans and only hope to find another apartment the equal to our first VRBO choice. You won't be disappointed!! Only one cautionary note: the apartment is on the 4th floor of a 5 story building with the ground floor being "0", so if stairs are a problem, this might not be for you. 30 June 2015 - 20:00:12

my wife and I enjoyed our stay at this apartment. Much better than staying down the street at a hotel ofr much more $$$. We ate out every meal at the many, many, many restaurants within a 10 min walk. Literally next door to the Lourve, the best museum in the world. Wow. Don't stay if 5 flights of stairs are a problem! We loved this apartment. Very nice. I'd stay again. 30 October 2015 - 00:28:14

I stayed at this apartment for a week in June 2017 and could not be more pleased with my lodging. The pictures do not do justice to the layout of the apartment it is more like a place in which one would want to live, rather than a simple vacation rental. All that floor-space is well laid out with a fully-equipped kitchen, separate dining room, amazing large living room, comfortable bedroom, and a MORE than full bathroom a full tub as well as a separate shower. While the apartment has a period feel to it, it is clean, well-maintained, and everything worked as one would expect in a modern unit. I found myself imagining the lovely living quarters as a permanent residence. And the images of views from the apartment reveal the central location of the building a block from Muse Louvre, two from the River Seine, among many shops and restaurants, a block from the Louvre-Rivoli metro (M1) station, and just a couple from Station Chtelet - Les Halles, a central rail station and major, multi-level underground shopping mall. I should also mention the very accommodating owner, who provided all the advice I needed, as well as a guy to help with the luggage and contact information for an excellent taxi driver who lives in the neighborhood they all contributed to the enjoyment of my stay. All-in-all, this apartment is a perfect place from which to base a Paris vacation or in which to spend a day relaxing after a day around the city. I wish I could provide a higher rating, but VRBO does impose a maximum. 03 July 2017 - 13:43:00

We just got home from staying in Serge's beautiful apartment the last week of April. There is not enough room here to describe how happy we were with this choice of apartments!!! - First, The OWNER Serge was a fantastic host... So helpful, and anxious to make our stay wonderful. The first thing I said walking in was that the apt. really was MORE beautiful than the pictures let on. - The LOCATION was no less than ideal! The Louvre just a block away, Metro station, Louvre-Rivoli, was steps from the front door with easy connections for every destination, Notre Dame only a 15 minute walk, great restaurants (La Petit Maichon-our favorite) and bakeries for breakfast, easy walk to Isle St. Louis. The stairs were a challenge for a couple 50+ year olds, but very doable. - PEACEFUL - tons of sunlight, beautiful windows, stylishly decorated, so quiet. We loved just relaxing in the living room with cheese and bread watching the news at night. A special widow ledge with plants and birdseed brought beautiful birds to our window. And every convenience has been thoughtfully supplied. -VALUE - felt like we got such a great apartment for the money. - SLEEPING - King size bed was very comfortable, with great closets for clothes and gear. - BATHROOM was really nice, luxury tub was so relaxing, with rainfall shower separate. - KITCHEN had everything you'd need and more. Really, the best selling point for us was the owner, Serge, who was a perfect gentleman, and so helpful--such a gracious and conscientious host. We will absolutely recommend this apartment to friends in the future, and would stay here again without question. 07 May 2016 - 22:04:24

Such a spacious flat in a fantastic location. Just one block away from the Louvre and surrounded by a number of cafes. There are also many restaurants and stores that are less than five minutes away. It's 1 min walking distance to the metro stop, which is great for those traveling out and about the city. I was an hour early from my scheduled check-in time and Serge was great in accommodating me on my early arrival so I didnt have to wait with my luggage out. The apartment is so clean and the bedroom perfectly quiet. Thank you Serge for this wonderful stay in your gorgeous apartment. 13 February 2017 - 21:11:00

Our family of 3 adults enjoyed this beautiful apartment in Paris. So much better than a hotel! Serge was a wonderful host and allowed us to check in early straight from the airport. He supplied us with an orientation to the apartment and the area. Very convenient to restaurants, grocery, bakery, metro, etc. The spacious apartment has everything you would need, including an air conditioner which we did need a couple of nights. We highly recommend! Thank you Serge! 28 May 2017 - 19:00:00

My wife and I really enjoyed our 5 day stay in Serge's spacious apartment just a block away from the Louvre. It was very clean with a comfy living room for relaxing and dining room for meals. Lots of counter space in the kitchen for meals too although the restaurants and bakeries in the neighbourhood were so good that we really didn't need to cook at all. Also highly recommend an Italian Restaurant we found a block away on Rue St. Honor with home made pasta (Enza & Famiglia). Serge was very accommodating and took care of all of our needs. He met us at the apartment and even helped with our luggage on the stairs. See you next time we are in Paris Serge!!! 03 June 2017 - 02:16:00
