  1. If you want peace and tranquility, then this is the place to come to meet your needs. The location alone is enough to help you wind down immediately. The staggering view, combined with the wonderfully appointed house is enough to make you forget all about the outside world and its' inevitable pressures. 15 February 2015 - 19:44:27
  2. We (my partner and I) had a most memorable stay at Mole's Cottage, Muir Beach, California. We stayed for 2 weeks in November 2014 and loved every minute of it! The location of the property is amazing and the cottage itself beautifully presented with stunning interiors as well as breathtaking views of the ocean. The facilities include a delightful sitting room with a wood burning stove, kitchen, bathroom and spacious accommodation for two adults and a child with all the mod cons youd expect such as Wi-Fi, I-Pod station and DVDs galore! Great local cuisine (at the English pub, The Pelican Inn) and Marine County as plenty to offer in the way of restaurants, shopping, malls, cinema and many other cultural delights. We highly recommend you seek out this treasure chest! Book soon to avoid disappointment! 13 February 2015 - 20:08:29

The most beautiful cottage, exquisitely styled in the best possible location. It is the best place we have ever stayed. I wish we could live there. Victoria's taste is quite simply the best. And the view is fantastic. You will love staying here and will want to return. 15 February 2015 - 07:13:27
  6. First I would like to thank the owner of the lovely cottage in Muir Beach for her kind and warm welcome. I needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a few days and chose this wonderful cottage. It was so peaceful and serene and I had the most relaxing time. The cottage was beautiful very clean and I loved sitting out on the porch over looking beach. The best part was going to sleep listening to the waves. Just what I needed and I look forward to bringing my husband and coming back soon. Thank you for your hospitality Victoria. 14 February 2015 - 02:01:07

What an idyllic spot. Found it nicely appointed and most relaxing. It is such a delight to retreat to the coast and get away from it all - yet be so close to the city and a multitude of hikes, secluded spots, great places to eat. Very rejuvenating. The owner is very responsive and very knowledgeable about the area. 17 February 2015 - 17:46:34

The beauty, location, and charm of this cottage are unparalleled. Muir Beach is a community like no other. The warmth from the people there can be felt immediately upon driving into the area. The beach itself is secluded and stunningly gorgeous. Victoria is an incredible host who graciously met us upon arrival, gave us wonderful tips about the area, and even left us some treats to enjoy during out stay. The cottage itself is quaint, beautifully decorated, and with every amenity you could possibly need. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a romantic getaway, rest & relaxation, peace & quiet, incredible beauty, and even for the adventurous who love hiking, swimming, cycling, or other outdoor activities. It truly is a magical place and rightfully deserves the title of "costal paradise". We will be back whenever we are in the area. 17 February 2015 - 06:08:28

This amazing cottage is nestled into a hillside overlooking the exclusive Muir Beach... The location and views alone are to die for! You feel like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of the world, yet you are only minutes from The Golden Gate Bridge. But the cottage... Oh my goodness! It is so awesome! Every window has a spectacular ocean view. The decor is whimsical and glorious and cozy and inviting! Outside patios surround the property with sand to sink your toes in and teak lounge chairs to relax in. BBQ and outdoor dining while watching the sun set over the ocean. The owner is lovely and so accommodating, and knowledgeable about the area. My husband and I brought our 11 year old son who LOVED the crows nest! He couldn't get enough of beach combing for sea glass and jade either, just steps from the cottage! This is a trip we will make over and over again!!! 20 February 2015 - 22:12:58

You'll never want to leave this perfect Coastal Paradise, with a wonderful ocean view, and surrounded by colorful succulents. The cottage itself is gorgeous, decorated with touches of ocean blue colors, and sea shells. There is a cozy fireplace, and lovely outdoor areas to entertain. Your hostess, Victoria is a world of knowledge about the area. There is plenty to do from hiking to horseback riding, and wonderful local restaurants, or just beach-combing. The perfect night is a glass of Champagne, sitting outside your own cottage with your feet in the sand, and watching the sunset over Muir Beach. Can't get any better! 04 March 2015 - 20:07:40

Staying at Moles Cottage was an absolute delight. Everything about it was beautiful, down to the details. Victoria has thought of everything and poured her love and thoughtfulness into every aspect of this property. To give a quick overview of this lovely placeMoles Cottage is located in the idyllic, little seaside enclave of Muir Beach which climbs up a hillside overlooking the Pacific. Victoria has transformed a small existing property into a magical seaside retreat. The cottage could serve as a homebase to explore the riches of Marin CountyMuir Woods, Point Reyes National Sea Shore, Tomales Bay, Inverness, etc. Sausalito is just over the hill and San Francisco just over the Bridge. Or you could just stay at the Cottage the whole is that lovely! The basics: A very well appointed kitchen that actually has all of the amenities to cook a meal. So often in rental properties you end up with hand-me-downs. Not so in this kitchen-it was like staying with your favorite Aunt who has thought of everything! ( like most rentals, this is a self-catering kitchen-stop in one of the towns before you get to Muir Beach to procure groceries. It will be a pleasure-this part of the world is graced with amazing food optionsand its true-once you get to Moles Cottageyou will want to stay and relax) The kitchen looks out into an amazing garden that my husband remarked every morning it looks like a painting. Beautiful living room with views to the ocean, comfortable, classic furniture and a wood burning stove Beautiful master bedroom with a very comfortable bed and luxurious linens, an ocean view, overlooking lovely succulent garden space. Great single bedroom with ocean and garden views-again beautiful linens. Bathroom is equipped with shower and thoughtful amenities Theres also a really impressive utility space that provides storage and the washer/dryer. Two amazing outdoor spaces to each side of the house that showcase an absolutely amazing collection of succulents. Overall, the dcor is white with accents of soft blue and wind washed wood. Things of the sea, shells, sea horses, nautical maps and driftwood grace the cottage creating the perfect seaside retreat. The property is very well taken care of and Victoria was a perfect hostess with timely replies and wonderful advice for our stay. If youre headed to this area and have the good fortune to find Moles Cottage available-it will be a Lovely, rewarding experience! 26 October 2015 - 01:03:23

Victoria has created an oasis of perfect design in this divine cottage. Every detail is perfect for those who like attention to detail. The views of the ocean are spectacular: you can see them from every room (but the bathroom). This owner has a cleaver use of mirrors to reflect the view no matter where you are. The succlent gardens are to die for. No surprise she is an interior designer (and a good one!). Beware you'll get here and never want to leave..... The road in is narrow and it is a hard place to find at night, so I would not recommend arriving after dark. Victoria is very professional and great to work with. Her rentals (she has two here) come with lots of leads and information for guests before arrival. Make sure to get groceries before you get to the area, as once you pass the highway exit, you will not find anything else commercial. There is a great English Pub right on the edge of the neighborhood (a 10-20 min walk), but they are very busy, and don't return calls when trying to make reservations - so go early or at off times to get in. The area is wonderful to walk if you are in shape: the roads are very steep, including the drive, which is shared. You can walk or drive down to the beach. There is a "naked beach" to the north (you have to walk to this one, you can't drive to it), it was less windy than the main one. Many people built fires down on the main public beach. This cottage would be the perfect retreat to be quiet, and gather rest and relaxation. There is a double bed in the master, plus a twin in the second BR. Bath with a shower, full kitchen, stunning views, and 2 fabulous areas to be outside - one on either side of the cottage. No fire pit as photograhed, but it has just almost everything else you could ever desire. Lots of outdoor seating areas, and beautiful things to take in. No live TV, but there is wifi, cell coverage and a DVD player with lots of movies. An incredible place to take in the details and unplug. You could visit SF (~30Min?), Napa(~90 min?), Sonoma(~60 min?), Mill Valley (~20 min?), Sausilito (~15min?), take brewery or winery tours, bike or explore the coast from this cottage. My times to each are by memory and not necessarily accurate .... Try a trip to Sebastapol and eat at the farm to market restaurant Fork Roadhouse - a foodie gem worth the drive! Enjoy - wish I was back there.. 17 November 2015 - 23:09:43

I've stayed in tremendous number of vacation rentals. Mole's Cottage is the best. Stunningly appointed with loving details. Impeccably clean and fresh with high-functioning appliances. But, of course, it is all about outside. The garden is perfect, and perfectly responsible, because it is a succulent garden and drought tolerant. The waves of Muir Beach provide a steady, calming background sound to a view that is spectacular. It's an easy drive to either Mill Valley or Stinson Beach. Hiking is available at every turn, and the Muir Beach Overlook is one of the most remarkable places to take in the NorCal coastline anywhere. Thanks to Victoria's timely replies and great service, we will happily return! 27 December 2015 - 19:57:32

We recently stayed at Moles Cottage and were so thankful we did!! It is just the perfect place to relax.. Refresh your soul . It is very small but perfectly appointed . Victoria has exquisite taste and has the thought of every detail to make your visit special . The kitchen is well stocked with all the necessary cooking tools.. Which is nice as once you arrive at the Cottage you don't want to leave. The beach is a short walk away and not only offers views but has amazing hiking trails.. Just spectacular . There is a cute little restaurant within walking distance called The Pelican Inn.. So charming. You feel like you are a million miles away from the city.. Yet you are in fact so close We cannot wait to return ! Victoria was wonderful to work with.. All in all it was a fabulous get away!! 04 January 2016 - 21:06:29

We stayed at Mole's Cottage with our 3.5-year-old daughter this past summer. It was absolutely lovely! The cottage is darling, with comfortable furnishings and a beachy, airy feel. Our daughter loved "her room" - this was the first time that she stayed in a separate room while we were traveling, and she was quite comfortable. There is a lot of outdoor space for sitting and relaxing, and for dining. The view is wonderful, and it's just a short walk down to the beach. (The driveway is very steep, as is the walk down to the beach.) There is a Whole Foods in the next town...we stopped there on the way in and stocked up for our stay. We drove to Bolinas one day and had our fill of oysters at Coast Cafe - delicious! And, of course, we could not stay here without going to Muir Woods. It is a truly beautiful part of the United States, and Mole's Cottage is the perfect landing spot while you are there. Would definitely stay again... 21 March 2016 - 20:00:12
  17. A poet once wrote : "It is easy to come, it is easy to stay For a week or a fortnight, or even a day But wherever I've wandered , I surely believe I have n'er found a place that was harder to leave" - Anonymous On a recent trip to San Francisco to speak at a federal judicial conference my wife and I decided to take a few additional days to hike Muir Woods and luckily stumbled uponn nearby Mole Cottage at Muir Beach . It is truly enchanting ! The decor makes you feel as though you had stepped into an issue of Architectural Digest and the views of the Ocean from your living room's picture window appear to be right out of National Geographic magazine . It is extremely private nestled on top of a bluff directly overlooking the ocean, quiet and secluded yet only fifteen minutes once you cross the Golden Gate Bridge .While staying there we had a terrific dinner (highly recommend the beef wellington) at the nearby Pellican Inn.... an authentic 18th century English Pub that was apparently dismantled, shipped across "the pond" a few decades ago and resurrected in nearby Mill Valley...but back to Mole Cottage itself.... The cottage's owner, Victoria, is extremely gracious and accomodating. I just can't say enough nice things about this place and very much plan to return on future trips to San Francisco I would rate it Five PLUS stars! 12 November 2016 - 10:02:08

Victoria, I can't say enough good things about our stay at Moles Cottage!! I came to San Francisco to visit my son who moved there a year ago....I miss him so much. I wanted a place that we could cook a Thanksgiving dinner and a beach that allowed fires. A beach fire, OMG just the best. The cottage was something out of a magazine!!! The kitchen had all the dishes we needed for the Thanksgiving meal, the beach was a short & beautiful walk just down the hill. Morning coffee sitting outside in the amazing patio's watching the fog lift and the view come alive was so good for my soul. I want to come back and stay for months. We also drove over and hiked in Muir woods!!! This was the perfect location and perfect cottage. Thanks so much for all you have done with this cottage & all of your hospitality. 14 December 2016 - 17:08:01

This 2 BR, 1 BA cottage, is perched above Muir Beach located in Marin County, California. It has two patios, one on either side of the cottage. The overall first impression upon arriving, which remained throughout our week there, was of pristine solitude and privacy. It is very quiet. The local population is 300 or so, but I dont think we saw more than a dozen people during our local walks. We were there in late September, and the weather was pleasant. Mornings were glorious. Sunsets were magnificent. Using the cottage as a home base, we made day trips to San Francisco, Napa Valley, hiking in Muir Woods, the Pacific Coast Highway up to Mendocino County, and dinners in Mill Valley. We also enjoyed the two local beaches and some meals at the local Pelican Inn. The owner, Victoria, is very organized and everything advertised about the cottage was exactly what we experienced. The cottage and grounds are beautifully and tastefully decorated, reflecting Victorias taste and skill as an interior designer. Nestled among hedges, thickets, and local fauna, one of the cottage's many charming aspects were the abundance of butterflies and hummingbirds just outside the windows. As an owner, Victoria was responsive and an excellent communicator. We had a minor issue with a clogged drain that was resolved the same day. If we could suggest an improvement, it would be to install screens on the two windows that do not have them (bathroom and kitchen). The place can get stuffy when closed up, and we discovered unwelcome visits from mosquitoes when trying to air the place out. One piece of advice: if you are renting a car, rent a small car! The roads are (very) windy and narrow, and a small car navigates them nicely. We had rented a large SUV upon our arrival in San Francisco and traded it for a much smaller one after only one day. Large SUVs just dont fit the local vibe here, and we found it otherwise challenging to navigate. If we could sum up the cottage in one word: charming. Overall, a lovely week in a lovely spot. We recommend Moles Cottage! 30 September 2017 - 16:19:00

The place is extraordinary, the views stunning and the cottage in a flawless state. It was our secont time to stay at the cottage and once again it was the perfect experience. The cottage is clean, the kitchen well equipped and you find lots of recommendations about the region. There is nothing that could be improved or changed keep it this way. Should we spend our holidays once again in the Bay Area well sure check on the possibility to stay at the cottage once again. 27 November 2017 - 09:13:00
