  1. This ranch house and the family that owns it are wonderful. Jeanette has always been warm and responsive. Staying at their place, you feel like a local. During the summer and fall, it's great to go to the farmer's market then grill your fresh, local veggies and seafood for dinner. It has the best view in town: the newly restored wetlands and former dairy barn. The pool is also a true treat for kids and adults alike. With the four bedrooms, two living rooms, and huge kitchen/dining room, it's quite comfortable for multiple families or generation-spanning reunions. It's a great base from which to explore the Point Reyes area and surrounds. 16 May 2011 - 03:51:47

My foodie friends and I had a fabulous, relaxing, and exhilarating weekend at this great old family home! Dinner at Nick's, lunch at Osteria, (don't miss the fresh fruit & veggies at Toby's Barn or the bakery or the great Point Reyes Blue and Cowgirl Creamery cheeses)!!! We hiked, golfed and just toured the town. In the evening we put the fully-equipped kitchen and b-b-q to the test and produced some memorable meals, then relaxed around the fire and caught-up with each other. The beds are comfy, the pool refreshing, and there's room to stash your hubby in the den if he wants to watch a game! Great time was had by all and we're planning to make this an annual trek! 22 June 2011 - 01:08:47
  3. This property provided a great weekend getaway I recently enjoyed with a group of friends. The photographs on this site show how nicely furnished the farmhouse is, but can't illustrate the comfortable and relaxing atmosphere there. The bedrooms are roomy and the beds very comfy. Then there are the common living areas where your group can all gather in one place or find a corner to read in or watch TV. And the kitchen makes cooking fun as there's lots of space for multiple cooks and/or helpers and most any pot or pan or appliiance you would ever need. To top it all off, the house is located right in Point Reyes Station. You can walk for coffee, to the bakery, good restaurants, a local grocery store and the wonderful Toby's Market. There's plenty of shopping, too, for those so inclined. As you can see, the house looks out on the fairly newly renovated wetlands area, which is lovely. You also have easy access to probably one of the best hiking areas in California, if not the whole United States. I hope to return to Waldo's Farmhouse soon and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.. 11 January 2012 - 22:33:40

What a find...a spacious, relaxing, beautiful home with lovely views and within walking distance to all the wonderful Pt. Reyes Station shops and services. We were two families who totally enjoyed our stay as the rooms were large, the kitchen huge with lots of conveniences, and the beds and linens luxurious. We felt like we had lots of room to spread out with two living rooms. The house was exceptionally clean with thoughtful touches throughout. We can't wait to return with other family members and also with friends. Truly a memorable weekend. 03 May 2012 - 04:30:12
  5. We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Bedrooms were very large and the patio and pool areas were huge. Just wished we could have enjoyed them more. We hope to return to accomplish that. We were out of the main traffic of Point Reyes yet within easy walking distance of downtown. The house was very clean, and the owner was very responsive in her communications. We received our damage deposit very quickly. Only negative was number of bathrooms; it could have used a third full bathroom. The half bathroom in the pool area was not very convenient (unless you needed it at the pool!). 14 July 2012 - 00:28:14
  6. This house is amazing and we can't wait to come back! We had a party of 8 and never once felt crowded! Each bedroom is unique and comfortable, the huge kitchen is fully stocked with anything you need to make a meal, the pool was wonderful and we made use of the recreation room. There were also resources for what to do around Point Reyes (maps, etc.). The location was unique because it is on the marsh reserve, yet only a few blocks from the center of town. The owner is very gracious, and when we arrive, there was a bottle of sparkling wine and famous Point Reyes blue cheese waiting for us :) Everyone in my family continues to rave about this place, and we are so looking forward to a chance to visit again! Thank you so much. 26 July 2012 - 05:01:25

This is the second time we have rented this house for a family gathering, and both times it exceeded our expectations. The pool is unusually large for a private pool, and is well maintained. The kitchen is well equipped for even the fussiest cooks, the home spacious and well maintained. The location is very central for all the activities around Point Reyes Station, and within easy walking distance of the shops. We will be back!! 20 August 2012 - 21:59:29

This is a great house on an amazing setting. The house worked perfectly for our large multi-generation family, and would be great for lots of different groups. It has the warmth of a family home and everything in it that we could have possibly needed - but didn't feel so precious that I ever worried about damaging anything. All the other reviews are true, but what I didn't expect was such a gorgeous setting...right on the wetlands with birds and deer. The pool was warm enough for laps in the morning and for the kids to swim in til late. The ping pong table was also great to have. We brought bikes - it were really fun for the kids to ride the few blocks into town. The owner is lovely. We will definitely be back! 31 August 2012 - 21:23:35

We rented Waldo's Ranch House for 3 nights for a group of 8, including 2 children. It was perfect, everyone had plenty of space and privacy, the home is very spacious, with both a living room and den. Also the layout was very nice for my elderly parents, there is only a short set of stairs up to the house and once you're in the home is all on one level. We were in Pt Reyes for our son's wedding, and on the first night we were able to have a bbq with our extended family, the outdoor enclosed patio was plenty roomy for our group of 18, the picnic tables and bbq and ping pong table were great. We didn't use the pool, too many other events going on, but it looked great! Large with lots of seating and a poolside bathroom. We would definitely rent here again! 19 September 2012 - 16:53:43

We were a quilting group of 10. This place was perfect. Had everything we needed and was nice and roomy and very comfortable. Loved the location - you feel like you are out in the country, but you are only a few minutes from town. Really enjoyed the swimming pool although we should have paid extra for it to be heated a bit more. According to some of us, the pool was rather chilly. I thought it was chilly at first, but got used to it once I was in and moving around. Everything about the place was positive - absolutely no complaints!!! 08 October 2012 - 21:20:18

My family rented this ranch home for the weekend wedding of our son and his local Pt. Reyes bride. It was not only a perfect location for the festivities but a comfortably laid out residence for our family group from out of town. With amenities more than we could use for our brief stay, we loved this place! Most heard comment..."Why don't we rent this place for a summer get away?" Thanks to the family owners for making their home available! 18 October 2012 - 02:32:31

We had an all woman weekend and there wasn't one thing that wasn't perfect...weather, beds, location, cleanliness, views, kitchen supplies and even wood for the fireplace! Jeanette is wonderful to work with and I can't wait to return to The Ranch House! Thanks for sharing your treasure!- 04 February 2013 - 22:49:48

An amazing retreat with spectactular views of Point Reyes and Inverness. A perfect place for those who prefer to stay out of their automobile for a few days since everything is within walking distance; hiking trails, shops and resturants. This place is ideal for spending quality time with friends and family! 27 March 2013 - 17:37:53

For the second time, our multi-generational family had a wonderful time. The house is great - lots of room to spread out in - and spaces to be together. The location is so special and pristine. So much fun to stay in the home of a family with so much history in the area. The owner is so responsive and lovely to work with. We all agreedwe will be back! 31 July 2014 - 17:43:01

Waldo's Ranch House is the perfect getaway! Close enough to the Bay Area, but definitely the feel of the country. The house has all the amenities to make your stay perfectly enjoyable from the well-stocked kitchen, to cozy sheets and bedding, to luxurious pool towels, books, games and plenty of space to spread out! Highly recommended! 01 October 2014 - 00:16:01

We were two families of four visiting for a long weekend. The place was absolutely perfect. Very spacious. Well-appointed kitchen with a large dining area in it. The pool was fantastic - indoors, which was perfect for the cool Point Reyes weather, but with lots of daylight. The town nearby is fun, with a few good inexpensive places to eat and a quite good slightly more upscale Italian restaurant. I've already recommended this to several friends. Working with Jeannette was a pleasure. She was super responsive and, among other things, got the pool heated last-minute after I'd forgotten to request it in advance. We're already thinking about a return trip. 21 April 2015 - 17:26:23

Point Reyes Station was the absolute best destination for a girls reunion get-away. We were a group of 8 and the house was more than accommodating. We did local hiking and shopping and really enjoyed the old ranch house and vibe of the town. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful property and location. 09 November 2015 - 04:06:47

My family and I stayed at Waldo's Ranch from December 27 to 31, 2017. There were 9 of us ranging from young adult to whatever I am at 72. Seven stayed in the house, and two came with a VW Camper they parked in the capacious parking area. The ranch looks west, out on the wetland at the south end of Tomales Bay, and the vews are magnificent. The property is on the west edge of Pt Reyes Station, and about a 2 minute walk from Cathy's Creamery among other fantastic cafes, restaurants, and the like in town. We enjoyed a number of coffees while passing through or stopping in the town. We had one exceptionally good meal at Osteria Stellina, which is only 5 minutes walk from the ranch. At the ranch you would never know you are so very close to all that small town fun. It is a bucolic place, with easy driving access to the Pt. Reyes National Seashore. We had one excellent walk to Limantour Beach and back with a picnic on the beach. Notable sightings were of a hawk with gopher snake in its talons flying over the windshield at the parking lot/trailhead for that walk, and a bobcat crossing our path on the way back from the beach. Our four dinners at the large table in the much larger kitchen were jolly affairs, and we played a number of games at the table in the main sitting room. There are two sitting rooms, one with a great fireplace, and one with a large screen TV-out of the way of non-football fans during our time. Some of us watched a few bowl games. Waldo's Ranch is altogether a gorgeous, happy, restful place. We were very lucky to have sunny weather, which is not normal for late December, I think. It was a bit chilly for swiming in the pool, but some of the family enjoyed games in the game room next to the pool. The barbecue is excellent, and we used it four nights in a row.... Many thanks to the Giacomini family for providing this exceptional vacation home! 11 January 2018 - 19:12:00

Thanks so much Dana for your gracious hospitality. You were always available and sooo friendly. The house was spic and span with everything one could want from age toddler to senior citizen. Want to read, there are magazines and books. Want to play, there are board games, ping pong and shuffle board. Want the electronics, there is WiFi and cable TV. Want to hike or go to the beach, all are nearby. Comfortable beds, well stocked dishes and utensils. Short walk to main street Point Reyes for yummy restaurants, bakeries, grocery, etc. We had a wonderful, large family birthday reunion and would definitely come again 15 January 2018 - 22:54:00
