About listing

* Please note, inquiries via VRBO message are preferred to phone calls. Thank you. * This is a studio apartment in a duplex cottage located on our family farm and is located in the countryside and surrounded by the scenic rolling hills of Petaluma. It is a small, simple and beautiful place to relax and refresh. This well lit and peaceful cottage is fully furnished. The kitchen is stocked for cooking with plenty of dishes, pots and pans and some spices. The bed is in the main room and there is a full bathroom. There is a shaded porch out front with wicker lounge chairs. A garden surrounds the cottage, plus you’ll be right next to our small vineyard. We also have a flock of sheep and some chickens living out on our land, as well as a motley crew of dogs and cats. To welcome you when you arrive, you will find a loaf of our freshly baked bread, butter, a few farm eggs and fair trade coffee beans and cream (all local and organic). And if it’s the right time, you may smell some artisanal bread baking in our woodfired ovens. You’ll also be greeted by a colorful bouquet of our fresh cut flowers. From the cottage, it is only a 5-7 minute drive to both historic downtown Petaluma and US Highway 101. Downtown offers bustling small restaurants, World Class wine from the region and locally crafted beer. Petaluma is a hub to most of the attractions in the area. To the west it is an easy and scenic drive to the pristine Northern California coastline (30 min to Bodega Bay, 40 min to Point Reyes National Seashore). To the east you will quickly find yourself in the heart of Sonoma’s Wine Country (30 min to Sonoma, 40 min to Napa). There are stunning Redwood forests up north (50 min to Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve) and it is an hour drive south to San Francisco. We love it here. We hope you will too.

My husband and I stayed at the Weber Ranch for two nights. We had two events we needed to attend in Petaluma so we made it into a Valentines weekend get away. Let me just say that it is a working ranch so it's nothing fancy. But having said that-it does take you by surprise when you walk in the door. Elisa and her family has taken the utmost care in making sure that the cottage is cute, quaint, comfortable and lovely. There was cream and farm fresh eggs in the refrigerator along with some fabulous coffee beans for the coffee maker that I can't stop thinking about. We walked around the property, which is a working farm. They grow meyer lemons and rosemary for the artisan bread, lots of chickens and dogs and eclectic little art and whimsy to explore. Straight from the cottage we turned left out the driveway and headed out to the coast. Later that evening we walked down to the wood fire ovens and watched the artisan bread process. We asked questions and watched in amazment the dance between the bakers and their peels. We did wake up a couple of times during the night thinking we were smelling someone making toast! This is the perfect small cottage for a couple needing a quick and easy getaway. Though it's only minutes from downtown Petaluma you do feel like you are in another world. Where it's the simple things in life that mean the most. 27 February 2013 - 16:03:26

My husband and I found the cottage at the last minute for our anniversary weekend and couldn't have been happier! The cottage was wonderful. We enjoyed the eggs, cream, butter and fresh bread. The weather was lovely. Ashley is the best. I had a great conversation with her and we felt very welcome. Petaluma is blessed to have the Weber's and we will be back! 12 August 2014 - 21:55:13

Charming cottage. Loved the little touches, fresh flowers in the cottage, fresh milk, eggs and butter. We enjoyed our tour of the farm and since the bread wasn't baked when we got there we went to the bakery later and got to pick out the kind of bread we wanted. Warm and yummy. The bed is just a full size but we managed. Spent much of my time on the porch reading, just what I wanted to do. The bathroom has a claw foot tub that brings you back to those good old days. I will put it on my list to return. 01 September 2014 - 14:34:29

I highly recommend this property. The cottage is GREAT and my 6-night stay was wonderful. The bed is super comfortable. The kitchen was handy and stocked with many thoughtful extras like farm-fresh eggs, cream, butter, bread and wild flowers - WOW!!!! The washer/dryer works well and made packing easier. The cottage is affordable, adorable, and convenient - an easy, 10-minute drive to downtown. There were 4 Adirondack chairs in front for some wine and conversation in the evening, plus a patio table with 4 chairs in back. I loved all the farm life [cats, dogs, chickens, and sheep] and the 'you are home' feeling. 24 September 2014 - 21:26:26

We needed a place to stay for a few nights in between moves and we were so very fortunate that Weber Ranch was available. Peaceful, relaxing, restorative--just what we needed. Eggs fresh from the henhouse, cream, butter, flowers and the best bread in the world! Elisa was so welcoming. We couldn't have found anywhere better! 03 August 2015 - 02:07:29

We were disappointed to say the least. Upon arrival, the door was open and unlocked, the place was a mess, the bed covers were thrown on couch, the bed was stripped down to mattress covering, the kitchen was dirty and there were no clean towels. Our arrival time was well past the 4 pm designated check in as we had hiked 8.5 miles earlier in day. Upon contact with property manager, we were asked if we had some place else to be so that room could be readied. We went to dinner even though we were still dirty from hiking so that place could be cleaned. When we got back an hour and half later, the place had been cleaned and there was fresh bread and eggs as well as freshly picked flowers. The sheets that had been placed on the bed smelled of mildew and made for a very unpleasant first night. We got up the next day and washed the sheets ourselves. The traffic noise was much louder than we had expected but there is not much that can be done about that. If not for the poor condition upon arrival, I would probably give the cottage, a 3 star rating. I really do not like giving poor ratings, especially to small property owners but I never felt like anyone attempted to follow up with us. 29 July 2015 - 15:03:57
