We had a fabulous weekend! We are a local group of women (Leelanau County), very good friends, 55-60 years old, who have been gathering twice a year for a retreat weekend for many, many years. Our usual March/April weekend in Lake Ann did not work out this year, so went looking on VRBO. We found the Beautiful Frankfort Michigan Home fairly quickly. It was PERFECT for our needs. Walking to town was only a few short blocks away. We all love Frankfort, and took advantage of the close proximity; going to Dinghys, Stormcloud, Fusion, Bayview Grill, Hulls, the coffee shop, and more. We had a GORGEOUS weather weekend, which we were starving for! We sat out in the front yard, the back yard, across the street at the park.....chasing the sunshine. The home was plenty big for all our needs, clean, well stocked kitchen for cooking, very affordable.....and as I stated PERFECT location for the price. Yes, we will return!! The hosts were great to work with! A big thanks to them! 29 April 2016 - 09:10:00

We had stayed here this past summer for a girls trip and had a great time! The home was in a perfect location for all of our adventures and beach/daytrips, it was clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay as well as a nice set-up. We enjoyed hanging out at night watching the big screen tv in the living room, or playing ping pong and grilling. Loved that it was walking distance to downtown Frankfort and the beach, although it was easier to drive to the beach with all our gear. Enjoyed being able to go to Stormcloud brewing and walk home, great beer & pizza! Grocery store was also close by. We really liked the pay it forward thing too, we used what others left and left things for the next renters. Chris was very responsive and helpful, even stopped by while in the area to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. This was a great experience and home! Also, check out Crystal Gardens right down the road, it was really cute... garden shop, nature center, antiques, and a rock shop that will polish your beach finds. :) 08 March 2016 - 00:42:30

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. We had plently enough space for a family of four (mom, dad & 2 teens) and mom (dad out of town) middle schooler & toddler. Mom & toddler slept in basement area as toddler was a "loud" early riser and especially teens like to sleep in. Every one had a nice restful area to sleep. The kitchen was very nicely updated, clean and spacious to work in; loved the tile backsplash with the blue glass and neutral tiles mixed together. The living room was very comfortable; especially enjoyed sitting in the arts & crafts chair. The Michigan beachy-blue theme was welcoming. TV was big and kids loved WiFi. One evening most of us played ping pong. We had a lot of snow (8+ inches) the Sunday we were there and were blessed to walk across the street to our "up north" church. We ventured to Homestead Resort for downhill skiing and Lake Ann for cross country skiing. House was very warm even though we had temps in teens a few days we were there. Walk to town was fairly easy although little cool with the low temps :). All and all it was a very nice place and I'm sure you'll enjoy as much as we did. 19 January 2016 - 14:07:21

Location. Location. Location. This home sits directly across from a skate park, playground, basketball court and tennis court. Our grandkids spent literally hours at the playground and skate park. It's walking distance to shops, boutiques, restaurants, and the beach (little far if carrying lawn chairs, but hey, bring a wagon and you're good). It's also very close to Point Betsie Lighthouse (a family favorite) where we enjoyed a camp fire on the beach after watching the sun set. It's only 2.4 miles to a public (free) boat launch on to Crystal Lake (this year's highlight) on the road directly across from the house. It really was perfectly located for us. The home was very spacious and features two great outdoor seating areas, the front porch (a great addition Chris and Pam!) and a wonderful backyard patio with a huge charcoal grill. Was great to kind of spread ourselves out and give each other space. This is our 19th year vacationing in Michigan and this home, by far, accommodated us, our kids and grandkids better than any home we've rented. Only downside is the limited parking. Our kids had to park at the park across the street but was really no big deal, only a little inconvenient. Because we had our boat (small) we could only get it and our truck in the driveway. But that won't stop us from returning! Chris and Pam were great to work with and were very quick to respond to questions leading up to our stay. If you are planning a family vacation, I would highly recommend this property. We're already planning for next year! 20 July 2016 - 15:03:00

We really enjoyed our Thanksgiving at the house. The town is great. Grocery, the beautiful lake, and the great local library are near. But water was leaking from the floor of the basement. I think/hope it will be fixed. 11 December 2015 - 23:48:00

Perfect location- across from the park and within walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops. The house was great. Plenty of room!!! Everything you need is provided. I almost didn't want to review it because I want to make sure there is an open week for us next summer. Great for families with kids of any age. Loved our stay! 30 June 2017 - 01:55:00

Our stay was great in a little town of Frankfort perfect location plenty of space and nicely decorated. Only one issue, had to do a little cleaning of animal hair on floors and one bedding, and ant control in kitchen. But, would stay again. 08 September 2016 - 17:19:00

Very nice cottage all the comforts of home. Bedrooms were nice & spread out-through out the home for privacy. Our grandsons loved the park right across the street. We were surprised it was still quite and able to watch them play at all times right from the large front porch. Staying in Frankfort allowed us to visit all the nearby communities. Driving to Traverse City was easy making a great day trip. Swimming in the lakes was awesome and very clean. Would love to stay here again. 24 July 2017 - 22:21:00

My family of four recently stayed at this property for a ski weekend at Crystal Mtn. This property was only 25 minutes away and provided great access to the quaint town of Frankfort, MI. The house had spacious accommodations with 4 good sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The living room and kitchen were great for preparing our meals and enjoying some downtime away from the slopes. Overall, the property was very comfortable and clean. The house is only a 3 minute drive away from downtown Frankfort. We enjoyed Dinghy's, The Crescent Bakery and Papano's pizza during our stay (all highly recommended). Most importantly, Chris was great to work with leading up to our stay in answering our questions in a timely manner. We would definitely stay there again. 27 January 2016 - 12:49:00

A couple of weeks ago my family was in the Frankfort area for a family reunion. A friend suggested I check out this property. I am SO glad that I did. We stayed here a week. I cannot begin to explain how pleased I was with both the accommodations as well as working with the homeowner! This property is a great location to both downtown Frankfort & Lake Michigan & extremely reasonably priced! I could tell that the home renovations were done with quality & care (looked like a new place). The place was very clean & furnished nicely...there was even a ping pong table & basketball for the courts that were right across the street! It was also great to have a place with laundry & dryer as well. I thought the layout of the place was very conducive to having a couple families staying here at one time...very nice layout. Overall, I thought this property was awesome & I would not only definitely recommend staying here but will stay here again in the future! Thank you to the homeowners for a wonderful experience in Frankfort!!! 31 July 2015 - 16:20:05

We were looking for a house near Lake Michigan that could accommodate 2 families but was close enough to walk to attractions. We were so happy to find this house! The four bedrooms worked out perfectly for our 2 families. The layout of the house made it seem like the house was bigger than it was. We loved that the garage had a screen so we could play ping pong and feel like we were outside. The patio area was cute for entertaining. The house was across from a great park with a playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a brand new skate park. Our kids loved watching all of the talented skateboarders. The owners were very responsive. Any question or issues were resolved quickly. We felt like they treated us like real people and not just numbers. The price for renting was very fair for the area! We would highly recommend this property to anyone. Thanks again for your great hospitality! 07 September 2015 - 14:47:59

We rented this home for our family vacation and we had a wonderful time. There was plenty of space for everyone and the place was in great condition. We have a 2 year old son so we really appreciated the park across the street and also the fact that the bedroom in the far back of the house was tucked away enough that he could sleep at night undisturbed even when we were still up and making noise in the living room. The owners were very helpful and responded to texts quickly. Frankfort itself was great as well - we loved the beach, the downtown strip, the proximity to the dunes, and Crystal Gardens. 06 July 2016 - 19:58:59

We had a great time. Loved having lots of bedrooms and two full bathrooms for the 6 of us. The slopes were only about 15 min away and the local Storm Cloud Brewery was perfect. We'd love to come again in the summer. 05 February 2017 - 18:40:00

What a beautiful time of year to be in Frankfort Michigan. The colors, landscape and wonderful place to stay made a rainy day palatable. Grandkids loved playing ping pong and the park across the street was a huge plus! We all walked at least 10 mi. Back and forth to town. Great place to stay! Thank you 29 October 2015 - 17:01:24

We enjoyed our stay in Frankfort and appreciated how cute the house is and the new front porch. The house had plenty of basic supplies & we didn't have to run out and buy something necessary. I appreciate that if you slept in the back, you didn't hear a thing from the the front of the house. The sheets and bedding were of nice quality & there was plenty of towels. We really appreciated the beach chairs and cart in the garage. Very handy! The ping pong table was a hit with our children and we really appreciated the screen on the garage. Great air circulation without the bugs. The park across the street was super... complete with a skate park and 2 basketball courts and big playground. The walk time to the lake was accurate, and we loved how quaint the streets were. A few things to be aware... The mattresses are of the Goldilocks variety- some were too hard, some too soft, and maybe one just right, maybe. The road in front of the house is busy, and it's noisy when sitting on the front porch. There isn't a back yard, but instead an enclosed area off the garage with the grill (charcoal and of nice quality) and outdoor eating. This is the only eating area that will sit more than 4 unless you eat in the living room. There are basic kitchen tools, but missing a few things that would make cooking easier-like a spatula & hand mixer & an extra cookie sheet and a smaller baking pan (there is one 9x13 and one cookie sheet). The coffee pot does NOT have an auto shut off! Eeks! and the extra key in the folder, did not unlock either door. Overall, for the price, I felt it was a good value. 23 June 2017 - 15:24:00
