Everything you needed was there for preparing meals. Walking distance to stores and restaurants. Very clean felt like home. 05 June 2017 - 15:14:00

Great location, walking distance to many great food, beverages and shops. House was in good working order and clean. Owners live upstairs and are very loud. Our first night we were woken up at 12:30am to them coming home arguing. They were screaming and slamming doors. Was not pleasant. On Sunday afternoon we came home to extremely loud music being played upstairs. It was so loud we were unable to hold a conversation and had to leave to do so. Would recommend the owners keep in mind the tenants can hear everything. 10 June 2017 - 11:12:00

Great house and a great location. There were four of us and there was plenty of room. Tons of great restaurants nearby as well. 23 June 2017 - 16:01:00

This is a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. We had everything we needed - and enjoyed the neighborhood just as much as we did our Louisville adventures. Cozy house - clean and peaceful... and the front porch is a bonus! Sarah is a quality VRBO host - great to communicate with. We will be back! 26 June 2017 - 21:32:00

Lots of room & character in this 2/1 first floor apartment. Convenient location. Due to several environmental allergies and asthma, I'm a bit of a clean freak. Noticeable dust on surfaces & cobwebs on ceilings could easily be remedied, however. Loved sitting outside at night & watching the fireflies. Lots of games, magazines & books available which was a nice surprise! 19 June 2017 - 00:21:00

We enjoyed our stay! The owners were very accommodating. This home is located just minutes away from many popular destinations in the Louisville area. Great for families. I would recommend this home to anyone. 11 July 2017 - 20:56:00

We enjoyed our stay in Louisville and this property made it all that much more special. It's walking distance to GREAT food and dining and is an easy bike or drive to Cherokee Park. We'd stay again in a heartbeat. 13 July 2017 - 14:36:00

Overall the apartment was excellent. The location is walking distance to many restaurants and bars in the Highlands area. It is also very easy to get anywhere by car in the city. The house itself was very clean and comfortable with an amazing front porch to sit and relax in. The owners were very easy to deal with. 19 July 2017 - 18:16:00

Sarah, Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home in September, while we in the area for our son's graduation from Basic Training at Ft Knox. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! Your home is warm and welcoming, with early 1900's charm. It was everything that we had hoped for and more; a perfect place to relax with our daughters! We appreciated all of the tips you gave us on dining out, and about the area, in general. We enjoyed the 'Back Home Resturant', in Elizabethtown, where the food, the service and the atmosphere were perfect! Dessert at the, "Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen" on Bardstown Rd, was amazing, and it is just a short distance from Hepburn Ave. We also enjoyed seeing Churchhill Downs and the Louisville Slugger Museum; and if you get to the museum, you are just a short walk away from Luigi's Pizzeria-a fun place to eat lunch, and to try more delightful desserts! Overall, our trip to the Louisville area was positive, and Sarah's hospitality was wonderful! We loved the charm of the neighborhood and our time at "The Hepburn House". We would definitely stay there again! 25 October 2010 - 22:55:51

A very charming, older home with lots of character. Rooms are a nice size, our family of four never felt cramped. Lots of nearby cafe's, bars and attractions. Just blocks from downtown without feeling like you are. 28 June 2011 - 16:33:56

I recently stayed here for just under a week. I enjoyed the stay very much. The house reminded me of visiting relatives up north. It was 5 minutes from many restaurants, and 10 minuts from downtown. I enjoyed being close but far enough away. The house was clean and had all the amenities. The owners were more than helpful. The master bed was comfortable, the showers were hot, the internet worked, and the a/c was cold. In the end I would stay at the house again in a heartbeat, and would recommend it to my friends. 29 August 2011 - 22:31:52

and it comes in the shape of a ladybird on the wooden table in the spacious dining room of the house. When I asked owner Sarah where she got this elegant and creative light from she replied with a warm deep chuckle, "John brought it to our marriage." The light - who's body glows red and metal wings extend in and out - is indicative of the taste, love and care this couple bring to sharing their home with renters. I could go on and on about the great style, generous cool quiet space, the quintessential slow rocking rhythm of the front porch swing and their legendary southern hospitality but I think the light says it all. Needless to say we had a great time, same time next year! 13 May 2012 - 00:06:43

Great accommodation for my family last week in Louisville. The apartment was amazingly spacious and well equipped. Above all it was well air-conditioned considering the temps were over 100F for 3 or 4 days. Location was ideal - easy access to downtown and to the suburbs. Will definitely stay there again when we return to Louisville. 30 July 2012 - 18:09:34

I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough! I would quite happily live in it for the rest of my days :) It's incredibly comfortable and very spacious with wonderful porches both back and front. It couldn't be better positioned in the wonderful Highlands neighbourhood but is also very convenient for reaching downtown, the airport and getting onto the highway for travelling further afield. Sarah and John were incredibly welcoming and friendly without ever being intrusive. The apartment is very well equipped with all sorts of handy items and plenty of reading material and it stays very cool even on the hottest days. The photos don't do the place justice and don't give away quite how large it is! It would be perfect for a family or a pair of couples - there was certainly more than enough room for the two of us. Louisville and Hepburn Avenue stole my heart - I'll be back next year :) 31 August 2012 - 14:40:44

We truly enjoyed our stay here. The house was beautiful! It was very clean, very inviting, and was so close to everything we wanted to do and see in the Louisville area. We certainly look forward to staying there again, and would very highly recommend it to anyone who is considering staying in the Louisville area. 27 March 2013 - 22:41:07

2nd time to the Hepburn House Already reserved the next visit. We just love the spacious home away from home. Full kitchen makes cooking easy and if we don't feel like cooking we simply walk a few blocks to great restaurants. Morning coffee on the large front porch, and grilling on the back porch. We just really enjoy the place : ) and the owners couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. 02 June 2013 - 00:17:15

We stayed here for 4 nights early this March. The home is wonderful with lots of character and VERY spacious. All the utensils and amenities are there from clean towels, guide books to every practical item you need to make a great meal. It is located in a good area with everything a good driving distance of 5-10 minutes away. Parking in the front makes life easy. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable and have a couple of cats and a dog which my daughter loved to visit with in the backyard. This property has both a backyard and front porch which is nice for sitting outside day and night. It was a highlight of our trip with the space, the nice owners AND beignet's a 3 minute walk behind the house at a local restaurant. 20 March 2014 - 03:27:22

4th Return to the Hepburn House. What can I say, it is truly our home away from home. Sarah and John are great hosts. Upon arrival, we always walk to our favorite restaurant just a few blocks away. Sarah is great to give suggestions of local outings. We enjoy the large front porch for our morning coffee and the fire pit out back for our late night talks. Highly recommend The Hepburn House. 26 April 2015 - 22:14:07
