We fell in love with our light and airy condo when we were searching for a second home in Ketchum. How do we love our condo? Well, let us count the ways! First, we love the layout of the space. The south-facing, open-plan upstairs living area has amazing light throughout the day thanks to cathedral ceilings and tons of windows. Second, we love the River Run location: Downtown Ketchum is only five blocks away, the bus stop for the River Run gondola a mere block and a half, and the bike path just two blocks. Third, we love that our condo doesn't feel or look at all like a run-of-the-mill condo. Our condo complex is unique in that it comprises just three duplex units, each with two-story condos. The living room has three comfy chairs and a sofa bed, making it the perfect setting to snooze, read quietly, or simply gaze out at the lovely east side of Bald Mountain. Or, you can watch Direct TV on the 54-inch, flat screen HD TV. Netflix and Amazon are available, as is wi-fi. The red cupboard contains games and books, and, should you play Scrabble, there’s a huge dictionary from which you can check the legitimacy of that word you just made up. Bridging the space between the living room and kitchen is the dining area with a huge, six-seater table with comfortable wicker chairs – perfect for games or when you just want to linger over a glass of wine and discuss the fun you had that day. The large kitchen has a lot of counter space, and features a five-ring gas stove, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, Cuisinart food processor, electric water kettle, toaster, teapot, cutting boards and knives, and a complete dinner service and saucepan set. The drawers and cupboards contain all the gadgets you might need for cooking and baking. Choose from a selection of teas, along with creamer, sweetener, and honey. You can also use the sugar, spices, and condiments that are in the cupboard and fridge. In between the dining area and kitchen is the powder room. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the step ladder goes to our private, lock-up loft. Downstairs the master bedroom is cozy with a king bed, bedside tables, a small cupboard, and a chair and ottoman, the ideal setting for meditation and quiet time. However, if you want to watch TV, you can do so on the 42” flat-screen. Stash all your stuff in the large closet or in the dresser. Even with the curtains open, you’ll still have lots of privacy because outside is a stand of aspens, which, when in full leaf, offer plenty of cover from the surrounding dwellings. The mostly-marble bathroom has a toilet, a single vanity, and a soothing rain shower – just what you need after a hard day on the ski slopes or hiking and biking trails. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided. The guest bedroom, with its three windows, southerly aspect, and turquoise-and-red color scheme is bright and cheerful. There are two twin beds, two dressers, two chairs, a large closet, a table, and a 42” flat-screen TV. The bedroom is also backed by aspen trees. The marble-and-tile bathroom has a toilet, a spacious shower, and a single vanity. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided. Also downstairs you’ll find a front-loading washer and dryer, and a cupboard containing extra bed linen and towels. Laundry soap and dryer sheets are provided. Outside the front door is a deck with a barbecue and a storage cupboard for your skis. In the bike storage you’ll find a lady’s road bike and a man’s single-speed mountain bike for you to cruise around town on or to venture further on the bike path. Nestled in the shade of aspens is a patio dining set. There is room for one or two cars in the parking area. Our amazing organizer, Denise, is available for airport pickup, babysitting, shopping, and extra cleaning, all at your cost.
