  1. My wife, daughter, son-in-law and I spent a most enjoyable week at Serendipity last month. This mountain house is well located and very accessible. Easy in and out. It is close to Franklin and not far from Clayton. Very good restaurants near by. All the features of this house are very positive; comfortable beds and chairs, well-equipped kitchen, terrific deck and view. My wife particularly appreciated how well-organized everything was. An added bonus was the owner; "Ken" who was very accommodating and easy to deal with. 25 July 2013 - 00:39:30

The house was very clean and decorated beautifully! There were many "extra" touches that made it so comfortable and cozy. The location was peaceful and easily accessible from the main road. We had a doe with twin fawns to visit one afternoon and a squirrel that entertained us on several occasions. We hiked at Tallulah Falls - the view from the suspension bridge was gorgeous! We also went to Black Rock State Park in Mountain City and hiked to the waterfall. The views from the look out points were great. We had rain on a couple of afternoons. The deck was a great place to relax in the swing and watch the ever changing view of the clouds moving over the mountains with the sun shining through occasionally. Ken was so cordial and responded promptly when we were completing the rental process. He was also quick to credit our deposit back after we left. One of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had! Thanks for sharing your home with us! 25 August 2013 - 20:39:43

Ken and Carol Allen have created a lovely relaxing mountain home and it is an amazing comfortable environment. It's convenient to activities and many fun day trips or just a relaxing day on the deck breathing fresh mountain air. The home is beautiful and they've added every amenity to make you feel like you're right at home!!! You can't go wrong with this property!!! 15 October 2013 - 21:49:57
  4. What an amazing place to spend a week. This was actually our second time at Serendipity. It was as beautiful and well maintained as our first visit. The location is great, convenient to Franklin, Clayton and the surrounding area. Easy access with an awesome view. Great for motorcycles, plenty of parking. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated, the owners are terrific to work with, and the swing and rockers on the porches were the perfect setting for enjoying the view. Love that the house is all one level. Great for small kids and those of us who are past wanting to climb stairs. Definitely one of my favorite places to stay. 28 October 2013 - 14:51:24

Serendipity provided more than we expected. We had lots of snow and had a blast playing in it! The home is beautiful and cozy with a fantastic view of the mountains, as well as convenient location to nearby points of interest, shopping, dining, and more. The owners are very personable and we enjoyed working with them to make this vacation happen. We highly recommend Serendipity and look forward to staying there again! 19 February 2014 - 22:50:09

We spent a week in the mountains and stayed in this finely tuned, well manicured VRBO home once again. This is a great place to stay and tour the Smokey Mountains or to just sit and watch the birds and squirrels feed themselves on the porch, cuddle by the fireplace, or cook yourself a fine meal in a kitchen that is adequately equipped with just about anything you could need! The views of the mountains from the porch is fabulous! This home is conveniently located between Franklin (the gateway to the Smokeys) and Clayton, GA (cheap gas and great food at Mama G's!!!) and is only a minute or two off the highway. We stay in a lot of VRBO homes and this is one of the best ones of all! 30 March 2014 - 19:42:33

We felt like we already had a great vacation just walking into this beautiful home. It was tasteful and covered in love. Never had we gotten so much for such an affordable price. 17 April 2014 - 15:10:00
  8. Beautiful home in a convenient location between Franklin and Clayton - my husband took me for the Airing of the Quilts. It rained but we enjoyed it anyway - rode to Cowee and saw historical sites we had never been to. A perfect weekend! Franklin has two great quilt shops and we found good restaurants in Franklin and Clayton. Thanks for opening your home! 21 May 2014 - 02:04:51

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Serendipity this past weekend. We were in town for a family reunion nearby and the location and accommodations were perfect. Checking in/out was painless and the house was spotless upon arrival. The kitchen is well stocked and made for a perfect spot to start and end the days. All beds were extremely comfortable and the jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom was a perfect way to relax. Not to mention, the view from the porch (with more than enough seating for everyone) was incredible. I highly recommend staying at serendipity if you're looking for a spot in the Smokies! 22 July 2014 - 21:21:19

Can't begin to tell you what a wonderful long weekend we had at your home in Franklin. It was beautiful, and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back. Next time we'll come for a week so that we can spend more time on the porch....what a view! Had so much fun exploring the area. Drove to Asheville on our only rainy day. (Went to Highwater Clay to buy pottery supplies) Explored Franklin, Highlands, Dillsboro, Dillard, Clayton, etc. Ate at Dillard House (and found a great place called Lynn's Buffet & Henry's Restaurant)...bought fresh vegetables...perused several pottery and antique shops...hiked behind Dry Falls. Had a totally wonderful time. Thank you so much for sharing this great place with us. 11 August 2014 - 23:03:29

A beautiful house and a great view of Mountains. An outside balcony with swing we spent a great deal of time just relaxing and reading. Great furniture and plenty of room. Already looking forward to next year's visit to a home that you could not be more comfortable and located in an excellent location.. 23 October 2014 - 19:22:25

This is the second year in a row we stayed here at Serendipity and it was fantastic! Even though the weather did not cooperate with us we really enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds and enjoying the mountain views. House is extremely comfortable and the kitchen was big enough for the 4 of us to be in it while we were cooking and cleaning. Kendall is extremely responsive and we hope to return again next year! Thanks Kendall! 28 September 2015 - 19:06:25

This place is awesome, one of the best VRBO houses we have ever stayed in. We look forward to returning...OFTEN! 06 November 2013 - 23:36:10

I was skeptical at first about using VRBO but once I started talking with the owner I felt more confident. This was a great place to stay and could not have asked for better instructions, cleanliness and hospitality. It is very reasonably priced and I am glad it was available to be part of a rare pre-Thanksgiving snow!! We do want to go back! Easy drive to Bridal Veil and Dry Falls. P.S. ALL cooking items are present. Pots, pans, dishes, etc., so if you forget something in 18 degree weather more than likely it is there. 31 December 2013 - 02:36:12

We enjoyed our stay as we visited our parents for the Christmas holidays. It had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Ken was so easy to work with and made sure we had everything we needed and have already made plans to book next year. Love the view and the quietness of the countryside. Thank you for your hospitality. Look forward to staying in 2018. 30 December 2017 - 00:12:00

It is the perfect place to get away and spend quality time with friends and family. The house and property is very clean and has all the luxuries of home. There are lots of doors and windows to enjoy the spectacular view to the east from inside as well as a huge deck to take them in from as well. We also made good use of the nice stone fireplace. I would definitely recommend Serendipity to a friend! Thanks again! 02 January 2018 - 17:02:00
