  1. Ben, Liz and Maddie have a great apartment with the best bed we have ever slept in away from home. The condo is clean and in perfect condition. Ben was in constant communication with us and even stood outside the front door like a beacon when we came in late the first night. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who likes a quiet stay. Subway access is straightforward. And just around the corner is a great live music venue called Bar Lunatica. My wife and I came to New York for live music and we had a wonderful evening just around the block! Thanks Ben, we hope we can come again. 18 February 2016 - 04:46:00

What a great place to stay, convenient, quite beautiful building. Loved the neighborhood. Ben was great, never a moment without communication. The layout was perfect, plenty of room to relax. The apt was clean and supplied with everything we could possibly need. Many stores and restaurants within walking distance, totally loved the NY feel. Shawn and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be booking again on our next visit to NY. Thanks again Ben for a great stay. 15 July 2015 - 21:34:34

This is a beautiful and really spacious one bedroom with everything you could want in a Brooklyn apartment (including really good air conditioning)! Ben and Liz are gracious hosts providing a lot of information about the neighborhood and the local cafes and restaurants if needed, or general availability if anything comes up. They've even thought of the little things, like making umbrellas available for use on a stormy summer day! My parents felt right very comfortable, and they are not City people at all. The house is just a few blocks from an express subway stop making it easy to get into the City for a show or museum visit. Compared to a hotel where you pay more for less, this is the best way to spend time in NYC! 26 July 2015 - 23:03:14

This was a fantastic, well kept, apartment in a safe and interesting neighbourhood. The apartment was exactly as advertised and Ben and his family were some of the nicest people we have met. My partner and I stayed here during our first visit to New York. From the point of first contact, Ben was consistently quick to respond to our questions and provided excellent advice on transport and the local area which really enriched our experience. The apartment was clean and homely, received a good amount of light throughout the day and the bedroom overlooked a rear garden which allowed for privacy. The brownstone buildings in this area are very pretty. Transport links were very good with the nearest subway station only 5-10 mins walk away. A and C trains were regular and the journey to Midtown was only approx 30 mins. Ben suggested getting a weekly ticket each which was very convenient and saved us money. Getting around was very easy using an App Ben recommended and people were always willing to direct us to places. Manhattan is great, but If you want to experience other parts of New York then we definitely recommend staying here as you will be well connected to see a fair amount of Brooklyn. Go and explore Jay St area. Get off the subway at High St and explore DUMBO, walk across the Brooklyn bridge to Manhattan - this was one of the highlights for us. On the day we were leaving, Ben let us store our bags in the building while we went and did some of the sights. We would definitely stay here again next time we are in New York and would highly recommended this apartment to everybody. Thanks again Ben and family for making our vacation special! 12 December 2015 - 13:50:46

This is a very charming apartment that has everything you need for you vacation in New York. The apartment is very clean, modern and functional. All appliances, housewares and linens were as new. Wifi worked perfectly. Our landlord Ben and his family lives upstairs and Ben was there both to welcome us and to say good bye when we were leaving. The neighborhood is safe, quiet and charming and it was easy to park the car in front of the house. Some great restaurants just minutes away, Peaches became our favorite, and also a couple of convenient stores and a bakery. The subway station is three blocks away, so going to Manhattan is easy. After a busy day at Manhattan or in Brooklyn it always felt good to return to this comfortable apartment. We were very pleased with our stay and we would love to come back. We will definitely recommend this place! 20 April 2016 - 11:03:00

The apartment itself is a tastefully appointed, well-equipped floor-through space on the 2nd floor of a well-preserved brownstone home in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn (specifically: Stuyvesant Heights). Hardwood floors throughout, comfortable couch, chairs and eating table in the front parlor room, kitchen and bath off an enlarged passageway connecting parlor and bedroom which in turn overlooks a back garden. There's a "bonus room" off the bedroom with spacious dresser and closet. Bed, pillows and linen/towels are comfortable and comforting, as if at a 4-star hotel. Location is 4 blocks from a subway stop on the A and C line, that connects one to Manhattan (or elsewhere in Brooklyn and Queens) in less than 20 minutes. We always felt safe walking from subway to flat and back, even in late evening. Racially/ethnically mixed neighborhood, looked to be about half homeowners, and many offered or responded to friendly greetings as they tended gardens, swept steps or just relaxed. Offerings of nearby corner stores and restaurants reflect both the longstanding neighborhood roots and more recent gentrification and influx of various cultural strands. It is a relatively quiet neighborhood of residential streets with light traffic. Ben was a warm and welcoming host who communicated clearly in advance, gave us a helpful orientation to the flat and the neighborhood upon arrival, and checked with us once or twice to make sure things were going smoothly and offered to help with any problems that might arise. Only problem, which was relatively minor, is that the hardwood floors and old construction do make for hearing some "noise of everyday life" from the owners and their 4-year-old daughter who live on the top floor above, though it was never severe or prolonged. Furthermore, Ben had warned us about that briefly and said to let him know if it ever became problematic -- that quick advance acknowledgement and offer to modulate is typical of Ben's warm and genuine style as a host. We'd be happy to stay here again and to recommend it to our friends. 22 June 2016 - 15:07:00

The appartement is spacious, tastefully furnished and has everything you need for a trip to New York! We immediatly felt at home! Quiet and nice neighborhood and not far from a subway station, so it didn't take you long to get to Manhatten. Ben was a great host, who gave us privacy but helped us if we needed something and provided plenty of information for our stay. I would definitely recommend the appartement! Hopefully we will be back in New York soon and will absolutely stay here again! 28 September 2016 - 12:56:00

Our short visit (5 days) to New York was made so much warmer and homely thanks to Ben's accommodation and hosting. The place was clean and exactly like the pictures - spacious and never had an issue with heating (we visited early December). The bed was comfortable and the pocket room behind the bedroom meant we had a place to hang our clothes/winter jackets and keep our luggage out of the way. Ben himself was a wonderful host, always ready to answer any questions we had about the rreservation, the room and places around Brooklyn. We managed to forget our keys inside the apartment and thankfully, having Ben live upstairs meant he was quickly able to come down and open the door for us. We also arrived late at night and never felt rushed to get there. Instead, we were greeted with a warm smile and friendly Australian accent (being Australian myself, it was much appreciated!) The place itself was not more than a convenient 10 minute walk in any direction to the station or for food (Ma n Pop's for an amazing, authentic southern brekky and delicious pizzas and mexican for dinner!) It was also easy to get to Manhattan every morning, taking around 40 minutes, and taking the a train in. I would gladly recommend this place to friends and family and wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Ben for making our Brooklyn experience wonderful :) Courtney and Alexa 01 January 2017 - 09:33:00

08 January 2017 - 17:13:00

A beautiful Brownstone apartment in Bed-Stuy. Is conveniently located a few blocks up from A & C train line into Manhattan, great cafes and restaurants. Ben was prompt in replying to questions or any queries we had. The apartment is very clean and cared for. We felt safe and people in this neighbourhood were friendly and helpful. Thank you to Ben, Liz and Maddie for having us stay in your gorgeous Brownstone Apartment! Patti & Rob 14 March 2017 - 23:41:00

We stayed two nights in this unit, and it was very clean and comfortable enough for 2 people. It's one private level of an old Brooklyn brownstone, which I found incredibly charming and cool. The neighborhood was quiet and had several cafes and corner markets nearby. We ate lunch at Manny's cafe, a short 2 block walk from this apt, and the food, ambiance and music were all fantastic. Around the apt. the street parking was tricky, as it's limited and there are street sweeping exceptions you must take into consideration, but otherwise no real complaints. Ben, our host, was kind and welcoming. He checked in with us throughout our reservation process and during our stay and always answered any questions we had quickly. I would recommend this unit and consider returning again in the future. Enjoyable stay, thanks again. 21 March 2017 - 22:06:00

Ben and Liz' place is full of charm and character, along with being immaculate and well-appointed. Easy walk from the subway and a growing - yet, not overwhelming - collection of coffee shops, groceries and restaurants. The neighborhood architecture is stunning. Ben, Liz, Maddie and visting dog Maverick were gracious hosts. 29 May 2017 - 12:51:00

Great location for anyone looking to explore Brooklyn while still staying close enough to Manhattan. Clean, large space, great for two people. Ben was friendly and the recommendations and maps in the apartment helped us find the local flavor of the neighborhood. 19 June 2017 - 01:09:00

The apartment was all we were hoping it would be in Brooklyn. Everything was very clean upon arrival and it had everything we needed. Ben was so thorough on all check in instructions. We were also greeted with a very thorough letter explaining all the ins and outs of the apartment and surrounding neighborhood. Ben and Liz were very kind and were more than welcome to help us with anything. My husband and I definitely recommend this apartment to a couple ready to explore Brooklyn! 27 June 2017 - 13:45:00

MY husband and i stayed at Ben's for 2 weeks. I was doing a medical elective at the Bellevue Hospital and i could not have been happier with this place. We were welcomed in a warm and wonderful way. The place was better than the pictures looked and it was SO CLEAN! My commute into Manhattan was about 45 minutes but getting on the A train into Manhattan was quick and painless. The area was safe and we left our car parked on the street and the alternate street parking was very manageable. The kitchen was very functional albeit small but we did out a lot. There is NO Television which was at times difficult for my husband since he was home whilst i was working, however, the WIFI was great and we used our netflix account to watch movies when we were missing television and wanted some downtime. It was really nice to come back to this apartment after a long busy day in Manhattan and get some quiet. The bedroom is on the opposite side of Stuyvesant which is a busy street with fire trucks and music that can often be heard from the living room but it did not interfere too much with sleep. Loved my experience in this wonderful Brownstone- if i ever came back for work or pleasure i would return to stay with Ben. 19 July 2016 - 01:30:00
