About listing

Welcome to our Long Island home! Experience suburban bliss in this charming 3 bedroom house in Massapequa Park, Long Island. Enjoy a spacious 1700 sq ft 3-bedroom home, 5 level home that is within easy reach of Manhattan, nestled between the big city and leisurely Hamptons. Our home is located in the south shore of Long Island, right smack in the CENTER of the Island, a quick drive to most towns like Plainview, Seaford, Glen Cove, Manhasset, Dix hills, Merrick, Lindenhurst, Amityville, Jericho, Woodbury and other surrounding towns. The Hamptons is a 90 minutes drive, Wineries of North Fork is also a 90 minutes drive, and a big plus is you can walk to the LIRR station to catch a train to Manhattan. Yes, a walk and it's very convenient. Breathe in the clean air that surrounds with nature, hear birds chirping in the morning with a cup of coffee/tea on hand, perhaps have breakfast on our deck in the warmer months. The house is decorated made for casual living, with a tuscan feel, lots of reds, yellows and greens, with super gleaming floors, and browse in our 1000+ books collection and be inspired to conquer the world. There are tapestries, and paintings all over the house that reminds us of a time and place and lovingly collected in our travels abroad. Start your day with a cup of coffee or tea in our open floor plan quaint newly renovated kitchen facing the deck, even on cloudy and rainy days, the skylight gives off so much energy and natural light, it's incredible. If you are a fan of landscapes, our den powder room has been hand-painted with a floor-to-ceiling rustic palette, reminding us of a beautiful landscape in the Hudson Valley, upstate New York. A local decorative artist was commissioned to paint this room, and the end result is simply stunning! In keeping up with our love for travel, the house has been imbued with an aesthetic that is fresh, open and eclectic, with European, Middle Eastern and a little bit of Asian influences. All rooms entice with comfort, color and the promise of sensual delights. This is a home designed for family gatherings, with guests in mind, where comfort reigns and where guests are meant to feel immediately at ease. Nothing is too serious here. We hope you'll enjoy our Long Island home as much as we have. Massapequa Park is located in the town of Oyster Bay, Long Island. Our house is a 15-20 minutes walk to the train station or a 5 minute drive. We are very close to a Preserve, where there is an 10-mile run for runners, bikers lane and walkers alike, gorgeous in the spring and summer where you'll meet the locals. My home is a split house, has 3 bedrooms, Den and 1.5 baths with a 1 car garage as well as a deck for outdoor living in the summer. It's a nice space, both indoors and outdoors. There is a flat screen television in the Den and a small tv in the kitchen. This house is not for the mobility impaired as there are steps to get to the second level, 3rd level and den. Carol provided nice hospitality and a welcome bottle of wine! Great first impression. The home is in great shape, nice floors, new kitchen, comfortable beds, and high end linens. It is close to the mall, LIRR, beaches, and not too far out to get to NYC. My family enjoyed our stay and would return again if we are ever going back to the area. Thanks Carol. 23 June 2016 - 14:01:00

If you are looking to stay on Long Island, in a lovely home, in a perfect location, accessible to city and coast, look no further - we think this is the perfect place. It is really lovely and has absolutely everything you could ask for. Massapequa Park is close by and has a supermarket, restaurants and nice shops. The railroad station is just down the road and offers access to NYC one way and to Montauk to the other. Jones Beach is 15-20 minutes in the car and has a gorgeous sandy beach and facilities; we saw dolphins on our last day. Carol is really nice and professional and we loved everything about the home and we hope to visit again in 2018. We would give this A+, 10/10, all just marvellous. We've been visiting the US and Europe for years and this is the best place we have ever stayed. 23 August 2016 - 07:50:00

  5. Carol was great and left cookies! The house was super clean and the queen and double beds were very comfortable. Beautiful landscaping and the back deck with new cushioned seating was pleasant to sit and chat. Downside was the multiple short but relatively steep stairs, some without rails so not for the mobility-challenged. The six of us were in town for a family wedding so spent all out time on those activities--didn't go to the beach or other local attractions. We would stay here again. 20 June 2014 - 22:11:50

Lynne and Mark Coppin from Wolverhampton, UK; 27th Sept to 4th Oct 2014. We felt privileged to share Carols delightful Massapequa Park home for our week on Long Island and New York. The property is ideally appointed for exploring the island and for excursions into the Big Apple by an easy and convenient rail link. The quality of the accommodation, furnishings and fittings was second to none, as was the helpfulness of Carol who was there to greet us, advise us during our stay and make sure we had everything we needed. We were also lucky enough to be able to relax in and enjoy Carols beautiful garden. Thanks you again Carol for sharing your lovely home with us. Lynne and Mark 13 October 2014 - 20:05:05

Myself and my family were delighted with this home away from home. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Carol's attention to detail was quite extraordinary right down to small notes left around the house to guide and encourage us! She was also very helpful and provided us with lots of local information. Would highly recommend this house for a vacation stay. Plenty of good places to eat and shop in the locality and excellent public transport to the city. Eilish O'Gorman (Ireland) 07 April 2015 - 18:04:44

We have stayed at dozens of vacation homes over the years, but never felt compelled to write a review, until now. Carol's house on Long Island was the most comfortable, clean, well equipped 'home like' house we have ever rented. My husband and I and our 3 teenage boys, visiting family on Long Island, found the home to a perfect location for a variety of activities. It's less than 5 minutes from the Long Island Railroad train station (40 minute train ride in to NYC), 20 minutes from Jones Beach, and surrounded by many easily accessible stores and restaurants. The house is located in a quite neighborhood, with a private backyard and deck (equipped with brand new, comfortable deck furniture). All beds were made up when we arrived, and the house was equipped with plenty of fluffy bath towels, shampoo, and soap. The kitchen was as well equipped as my kitchen at home. Carol was such a pleasure to work with throughout the whole process, and was at the house to greet us when we arrived. She refunded our security deposit less than a week after our departure! We visit Long Island every summer and hope to make Carol's house our 'home away from home' when we do! 26 July 2015 - 13:12:20

What a great experience! Our family had a wonderful time here and I would highly recommend this to anybody that is considering staying in he area. Carol was very peasant and attentive to all of our needs and made us feel very welcome. The kids loved the yard and all of the games that were available. This house is conveniently located as we went to both the city and eastern Long Island. Would definitely stay again, thank you Carol! 15 April 2017 - 16:38:00

We we in NY for a family reunion. We stayed at Carol's Massapequa home. It was a beautiful house and property. Very clean and well appointed. We had two families staying, 4 adults and 4 kids. There was plenty of room for us to spread out, even extra space in the basement, so everyone had a quiet place if they needed it. Since we were there for almost a week, it would have been nice to have something to unpack into, but we had so much room, it was nice to not feel like we were on top of each other. The kids loved playing in the lower family room. Lots of games available and spaces to play. Carol was great and provided a double blow up mattress which we were able to move where we wanted. This enabled us to give the kids options on where they slept each night. There were plenty of extra sheets and blankets. The kitchen was great to cook in. For our families we could have used more cups and bowls, but there were plenty of cutlery and plates. Every condiment and spice you could think of! Cupboards were well stocked. The backyard was lovely, we loved sitting out on the deck. We were able to get to the city and the beach and visit our family. There is a shopping mall right across the way. We stopped for some great pizza in town and bought fresh ravilois one day. We were very happy we had a lovely home to come back to each day! 07 August 2016 - 16:31:00

This is a beautiful home and has been lovingly taken care of! We very much enjoyed our stay. It was close to everything but secluded enough to be nice and quiet. The landscaping is beautiful too. The homeowners have put a lot of time and love into this home. 04 August 2016 - 15:27:00

What a great home. The house is clean, comfortable and so homey. While Carol wasn't able to meet us she made plans for her in-laws to meet us and give a quick tour of the home when we arrived. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are ample size, there's a pretty kitchen and the TV room downstairs is great for relaxing. The house is beautiful inside and out - the backyard is beautifully landscaped, the front flower beds are decorated with pretty summer annuals. Carol adds those extra touches, (wine, chocolates, notes) to ensure her guests feel welcome. She definitely succeeds. We will be back. Thanks Carol 17 July 2015 - 00:41:33

Excellent price for a well maintained and comfortable house. Owner was very pleasant and everything was well stocked. Because it is three level, it might cause some problem for those with limited mobility. We found it charming and would definitely stay there again. 16 June 2014 - 06:14:54

My extended family and I recently stayed at this LI house and had a wonderful time. It's a nicely appointed home with a full kitchen and lots of room options to sleep several couples, kids, etc (only slight inconvenience is that the beds are on the small side). The location is in easy walking distance to the Sunrise mall next door and even great food (try Big Daddy's). 13 June 2014 - 20:20:41
