The location was perfect for anybody who wants to experience the city and everything it has to offer. The apartment was roomy and clean. My wife liked everything but climbing to the fourth floor. No elevators. But it was nice after eating the great pizza and hotdogs that are in walking distance. Also there is the best bagel and coffee shop just up the street that has amazing food. You gotta try it out. With the whole experience the only problem I had was contacting the host once I got there. But he was a great guy and showed me everything before he left. I definitely would stay there again. 23 March 2016 - 15:35:06

Really a 4.5 star overall. Pros: Reasonable price. Great for a family on a budget visiting NYC. Proximity to subway. It was perfect for my family of 7 for 3 nights--a little cramped, but that's kind of the New York experience. Cons: Because we're a big family I did do some cooking. The kitchen was adequate but could've had a bit more. Definitely not a deal-breaker, in my opinion. Plus, I know that most visiting NYC aren't going to be really using the kitchen. Bottom Line: Good Apartment. Good neighborhood. Close to subway. Host easy to communicate with. 24 June 2017 - 01:34:39

23 August 2016 - 23:41:28

Stayed here for a couple of nights to see a few Broadway shows and to do some other touristy things in Manhattan. The Pros: 1) The neighborhood was pretty safe and we were able to find street parking and leave our car parked for both days for free and without trouble. We found out that there is street cleaning on Wednesdays, so keep that in mind if you plan to park on the street. 2) The location is pretty close to lots of bars and restaurants within the Astoria area of Queens. 3) The WiFi worked in the apartment after we reset the router. The Cons: 1) The pictures are very generous of this apartment. We found it to be dingy and a bit dirty. The owner walked us through and had to flush the toilet because there was pee still in it; makes me wonder what the $55 cleaning fee is actually used for... 4) The owner was not the very responsive. I accidentally clicked 2 guests instead of 4 on the site and sent and email to the owner to let them know my mistake immediately after submitting and heard no response at all. Then when we walked in he was shocked to see 4 of us and demanded we pay $80 extra dollars in cash. The site says $15 extra per person, so $80 was quite excessive and we left $30. We also had issues meeting up with the owner. He would first tell us to meet him at one place and NOT TO MEET IN FRONT OF THE APARTMENT, just to get a call from him wondering why were weren't meeting him in front of the apartment. Very confusing. 5) The site for this apartment says it is 10 minutes to Manhattan. And that will probably be true sometime in the future when you can teleport places but the teleporters are in the early stages of development and it takes 10 min to go anywhere. To get to Times Square it is about a 40 min drive or a 30 min walk/subway ride. Keep this in mind. Overall, we kind of wished we just spent our money on a hotel in the city :/ 08 August 2016 - 15:09:47

I went there with 2 girlfriends who have never been to NYC. Loved the location, safe, easy to get in and out of Manhattan. This is a no frills apartment with the basics. I emailed David 4 days prior to arrival and did not hear back so had to text him the day prior. He was very responsive via text. When we got the apartment, their was only 1 roll of toilet paper, no hand soap in the bathroom, and no towel bar in the bathroom. We had to purchase hand soap and toilet paper. I would make sure all that is full prior to arrival. Otherwise, to have breakfast and sleep in a quiet neighborhood, it did the trick. 19 April 2016 - 20:29:59
  6. The apartment is very well located and generally good for the price paid .You can find good restaurants and supermarket near. Negative detail: Shower was very dirty and there was ants in the bathroom. 13 August 2015 - 11:32:18

The host cancelled the reservation 2 days before check in. This is an auto-generated review posted on behalf of the guest. 27 December 2017 - 06:30:05
