About listing

One Bedroom apartment in PUI O on Lantau. Quite and lovely country side. Definitely your choice to discover the quiet lovely nature side of Hong Kong. There's a double bed in the bedroom and there's a double sofa bed as well. Maximum can stay 4 people. Kitchen equips with a stove top which you can cook. You can have the entire apartment and also the rooftop area. As you will be having the entire apartment. I will not be around. But I can definitely be contacted for any questions. Pui O is located on the same island of the airport but in the southern side. 10 mins walk to the lovely Pui O beach. There are many trails around this area and the 2nd highest mountain - Lantau Peak just right at the corner. This is the area for people who enjoy their quiet stay in Hong Kong. You can also easily get to the big Buddha and the classic fishing village - Tai O. Please remember if you prefer to have a party life during your stay in Hong Kong, this area may not be your choice as this is not close to the party heart area in Hong Kong. You can take a 8-min bus ride to Mui Wo and then a ferry (about 30mins for a fast one or 50mins for a slow one) to the main Hong Kong island. Or you can also take a 20-min bus ride to Tung Chung where you can get onto the MTR (train network) to most part of Hong Kong. Be warned it is not very convenient for crazy partying night life. You can have the entire apartment and also the rooftop area. It's a second floor walk up and 5 mins walk to the nearest bus stop.

We had a lovely time at this beautiful apartment with nice view and magical surroundings with the famous buffalos of Lantau Island. Highly recommend it for nature lovers wanting to get away from the pollution and noise and have a different Hong Kong experience. We had easy access and a beautiful scenic bus ride to the Big Buddha/monastery and also to the airport. The neighbourhood has some Australian/NZ...etc expat community, and the Spanish themed bar nearby, called Tap Tap is a great place to mingle and cuddle the cute dogs the owners take along in the evenings. The Mui Wo pier has a South African and a Turkish restaurant which we would love to try out on our next visit. Cleanliness was impeccable, it was a very organised apartment and very cute &cozy home. Bed was comfortable and I loved the numerous pillows!! Bathroom was small but very clean and convenient to use. Kitchen was also very well set up and the channel variety for TV was impressive as well. it is definitely a valuable experience and we would love to return on next visits to stay a bit longer as it is so relaxing and still so much to explore on the island, probably the most exciting place in HK. Our host, Janet is a very warm-hearted lady, she always responded promptly navigating/guiding us and she is very prepared to host guests as we did not even have any question left after the thorough guidance she gave. In the apartment, she has all wi-fi, bus schedule and other useful info on her wall, so it really made our stay/transportation smooth and so enjoyable. She is the best host ever! I hope I can have my home set up for hosting and have her as guest as well in future. Thank you for this wonderful experience, Janet and see you again! 20 October 2014 - 09:28:49

  3. Janet's small apartment fit our needs. We enjoyed the quiet village life of Pui O, far from the crowds of Hong Kong island and the airport/Discovery Bay side of Lantau. We loved the treetop and mountain views from the bedroom (like sleeping in a tree house!). I was ecstatic with the easy access to the Lantau Trail (sections 2, 11, and 12), and several country-park trails as well. Getting around by bus for grocery shopping, for sight seeing, and to trail heads went really smoothly with the Octopus Card. Janet was very helpful before arrival, sending details on finding the apartment, and responsive while we were there, checking that all was OK and troubleshooting by phone when the internet stopped working. We were surprised to learn that the apartment is Janet's home (she stayed off-island), but that meant it was well-stocked with things short-stayers don't want to buy or bring (like salt, mustard, shoyu, cooking oil, etc). We would definitely stay again in ever in Pui O! 12 July 2015 - 21:27:21
