Our family of four recently spent one week in apartment 3F. This was our first time renting an apartment instead of a hotel room or a timeshare unit and we are definitely sold on the idea that this is a way to get a lot of value for your travel dollars. The apartment was clean, spacious, relatively quiet (for NYC) and full of amenities. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed having access to a full kitchen. Transportation was simple as it was a 10-minute walk to the subway station on 96th street and from there we could take the 4,5, or 6 line and get just about anywhere we wanted to go in the city. A couple of times we wished to take a taxi and we were able to step out onto 2nd Avenue and quickly catch a taxi. I will say that there was a bit of travel time to get into the tourist destinations in Midtown or Downtown, but we actually enjoyed being out of the "thick of it" because it was nice to exit all of that after a day of overstimulation and return to a more residential neighborhood. On the occasions when we wanted to eat out, a Subway and McDonald's were around the corner, as was a drugstore and grocery store. Within a 15-minute walk we were able to find some great restaurants. We really enjoyed eating at The Barking Dog (1678 3rd Ave) and Three Guys (960 Madison Ave #1), both of which we highly recommend. This selection is clean, well-appointed, and in a good location. 08 July 2015 - 06:34:14

This apartment is in a convenient location. We stayed in apartment 3F with 4 adults and 1 child, and felt like there was plenty of room. The bedrooms were a great size for NY; only one had a closet. It was great to be able to cook our own breakfast of a morning, and then spend the whole day in and around the city. The location is fantastic, with the subway being a short walk away (and on the line that runs straight down to grand central) and the neighbourhood felt very safe as well. Good suggestions for places to eat are provided in the apartment if you don't want to TripAdvisor/yelp it. Parking garage is right next door, which is a bonus. The building is secure, elevator worked perfect, and the sounds of the city were surprisingly muffled by the windows. We would stay here again, location is great! 13 June 2015 - 02:15:32

Overall, the property was clean and convenient. A little cramped for 6 people, but we were not actually in the apartment very much. The pullout sofa couch is so-so on the comfort scale. Instructions for the TV would be helpful. 02 January 2017 - 15:19:00

This was our first visit to the East coast and we had a great time! The place was located right by the subway so you could get anywhere, no need to rent a car. It's a few blocks from Central Park which was perfect for running and site seeing. There are plenty of good places to eat and groceries just right around the corner. Jennifer left a folder with suggestions on eating and shopping what was very helpful. Great place to stay!! 26 April 2017 - 14:13:00

Me and my family (my wife and my children 16 and 19 years old) loved our stay in Jenifer's apt: well lit, air conditioning excellent and space suitable for our family. Located in a quiet neighborhood and Super cozy, close to everyhing, as the subway stations (lines Q and 6), markets, including a Whole Foods, pharmacies, restaurants for everyone, amazing museums and having the Central Park as a garden, the apt was fundamental to our recovery after a whole day enjoying attractions of the dazzling NYC. Our thanks to Jennifer and Nick by the support received. We will be back for sure! 03 August 2017 - 16:59:00

I would have given 5 stars but the construction in the area of the sidewalk leading to the front entrance was an inconvenience. Very clean, updated, close to stores, subway and easy access to cabs. The apartment had updated appliances, comfortable beds and a large bathroom. I would rent it again. 27 November 2016 - 20:24:00

We just returned from NYC where our family (Mum, Dad, boys aged 15 and 13) stayed in apartment 2F. First off, the position is awesome. The subway (# 6 train) is two blocks away at 97th st station. There are two supermarkets, two or three huge pharmacies and multiple restaurants, bars and take-out places within about a block. Central park is 4 blocks away and the entry is at the Jackie Onassis lake level about another 10-20 minute walk from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim. The building is clean, with an elevator (lift). The apartment we stayed in was on Floor 2 but was not overly noisy despite facing East 97th Street. There is major construction next door and across the road but this also did not affect us. The rooms are reasonably sized (queen bed easily fits) and the appliances that are there work well and seem pretty new. The shower / bath was terrific with good water pressure and ample hot water. Areas that could be improved include one major thing - the apartment is really bright and has no black out blinds or curtains. There is a sheer blind that stops prying eyes looking in, but in Summer the sun comes up early and we had to sleep with airline masks. Minor improvements in available storage for clothes and everyone's bits and pieces, and more cooking utensils would be good but no deal breaker. The host, Jennifer is really helpful and communicative. She provides a list of local eateries including enThaice which was terrific. If you are in NYC for a length of time then you will feel right at home here. We did. 14 July 2014 - 10:49:32

My family (4 adults and 2 kids) stayed at this awesome Upper East Side apartment. It is new as advertised and is in a great location. 2 blocks from the subway station with a new one being built even closer! Listing description and photos were incredibly accurate. The property was very clean. We had contact wtih Jennifer both before, during and after our stay. She was very responsive and easy to work with. She had a good instruction sheet for the property and good restaurant recommendations. We didn't eat much in the area but did go to the local recommended grocery store and Thai restaurant and both were great. Wifi was good. Beds were comfortable. We had a large group so we were cramped but that was our choice beforehand. The area is very safe. We were out later at night in groups and felt comfortable. It's very close to Central Park. That was very nice. Agree with some of the other reviewers. The family room area was very bright and could use some curtains or window coverings. We had 2 people in that room and got woken up early by the sun. Another mirror in the apartment would help. It did have an iron which helped. that's the only reason for the 4 star versus 5 star but both are pretty minor. 25 July 2014 - 00:09:28

Family of 5 and stayed here 5 nights. Good location in upper east did- away from the main bustle but only 5 minute walk to subway and 10 minutes to Central Park. Lots of restaurants nearby. Apartment clean and well presented. Would recommend this apartment - ideal for 4 people but sofa easily converts to bed too. 21 August 2014 - 13:36:14

The apartment was as described, perhaps slightly smaller than appeared in the pictures. Definitely a squeeze for 6 adults but adequate for 4. Well located, close to transportation, and clean it served our purposes well A big plus was housekeeping allowing us to drop our luggage prior to official check in and on the other end keeping our possessions safe after check out. Blinds in 1 of the bedrooms did fall requiring a fix it which was brought to housekeeping attention. All in all I would recommend. 05 November 2015 - 22:36:57

This apartment was perfect for our family of 5. Well appointed throughout with all the conveniences we required for a self contained stay. The location was also ideal with excellent restaurants close by and easy access to subway. We definitely would (and have already) recommended to family and friends. 03 January 2016 - 04:59:30

We stayed in this two bedroom for nearly a week and found it to be wonderful for our family of three - two adults and one child - though it obviously could fit another person comfortably. The location is fine for East Side, though we were surprised to see an extensive construction project right next door (which is also visible on Google's street view). The good news is there was no exceptional noise from the construction so no need to worry about that! There are numerous convenient shops, cafes and restaurants, and the subway is close by. We felt very safe during our entire stay including travel to and from downtown at night. Access to central park is also easy. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The air conditioning was useful during our stay and worked well. The building manager and the booking agent were helpful and easy to work with. The building itself has been remodeled recently - this means it is both clean and still has a "punch list" of minor details that need attending to - a couple cupboard handles not installed, some tools and supplies in the stairwell - but nothing to bother a stay. The kitchen is adequately but modestly furnished - more like an efficiency apartment than the full apartment some visitors may be accustomed to. But this is NYC, so who cooks in anyway? We gave feedback to the owner about adding things like hooks for towels. The only other issue that might affect a light sleeper is that the curtains are sheer shades, not really black out curtains. If you wake up with the light as we do, no problem. They do provide privacy... we think! We would gladly return to this location and dwelling - and expect you will enjoy it too. 11 August 2014 - 22:00:43

We cannot say enough about how great the apartment is and what a pleasure Jennifer is to work with. We stayed 5 nights with our two 5 year old boys. The apartment was clean, well maintained, quiet, and comfortable. The listing description was accurate, the pictures listed reflected the appearance and amenities of the apartment. We would highly recommend this property and cannot wait to visit NYC again and hopefully stay in the same apartment again. 22 July 2014 - 17:47:27

Terrific to have a two bedroom apartment with cooking and laundry facilities. One block from the subway, 4-5 blocks from supermarket, bars/restaurants nearby and close to Central Park. Terrific location. 27 November 2017 - 20:08:00

The apartment was a fine size for 3, but with o let one bathroom some additional mirrors to get ready would improve the space a ton! The shower didnt drain and the heat was on a timer to go up as high as 85! I woke up in the middle of the night so hot our first night. The living room was nice except the chair is not great for hanging out, watching tv. Overall it was fine for the weekend trip but I wont be staying here my next visit. The location was close to subway stations and coffee shops which is great. It says parking, and when I emailed to ask what specifically they said street parking. We found a spot not too far away and ended up with $200 in parking tickets even though there were no signs indicating parking restrictions. 22 January 2018 - 02:01:00

This is our second visit to this property and we have been very pleased both times. My husband and I are a retired couple with children and grand children living in NYC so we visit often and rent with Homeaway consistently. We also travel a great deal and understand how important it is to be accurate in our review of housing. First, renting and working with Jennifer is so easy. She responds within a day to any email and answers questions carefully. Her apartment manager Nick is also a gem. He has met us promptly both times we have checked in with keys and information about the apartment. The Wifi and Fios TV work well, no issues. All described amenities are updated and modern. ( I am referencing air conditioning, coffee maker, etc. ) The apartment is a two bedroom, one full bath which is large. Having been in many NYC hotels and apartments in the past.......I would consider this spot on the medium to large side. One of the bedrooms does not have a closet but there is a nice, large cubby to store items in. The other bedroom has a very large closet considering it is NYC , a town not know for lots of closet space. We have never used the pull out sleeper in the living area but it is available. Four adults can easily handle this rental. The location is ideal..........2 subway trains within walking distance that take you anywhere in the city. For those who love to walk ......Central Park is just a few short blocks and any quick restaurant or grocery store is within 2 blocks. The Upper East Side has some wonderful restaurants that are easy to access. We have always felt safe here as the building is well lit as is the area surrounding the building. It's New York......people bustling and policemen are visible and helpful. Jennifer has kept her price very fair for this space. NYC is pricey but this spot is very reasonable for the amount of space, the location and amenities offered. A traveler would have a hard time finding a hotel for this price / this area with this amount of space and amenities. Overall, I would recommend this rental with enthusiasm. Thanks, Jennifer and Nick for being so helpful and thorough. Jenny M. 13 October 2017 - 11:54:00
