We had a great time in this precious property. It's very bright and open. The house is perfect for kids of every age. There are a lot of games for indoor activities. The kids enjoyed them. Thanks to the fenced yard we had safety feeling when they played outside. The big windows give great lake view. The owner is responsive. We cannot say nothing negative. Definitely we are going to rent a house again. 24 October 2014 - 01:38:15

My family has stayed at this property for two years now and absolutely love it! The home is always clean and is as beautiful as the pictures show. It has the best gathering spaces (both inside and outside) for large families. The lake views are supreme. The location in the small town of Alburg is perfect for taking walks to the library, the tie-dye t-shirt shop and for a grinder at the Beverage Mart. Highly recommend this home for any large groups. 05 January 2015 - 18:41:15

My family just came back from our fabulous vacation at this property. All I can really say is it what just perfect! The home was clean and beautiful and every household item we could need was available and easy to find. The views from the home are breathtaking, the beachfront was exactly what we were looking for and the fenced yard was perfect for our little ones! The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because it is a little far from any sort of entertainment that doesnt involve the lake and the closest real grocery store is 25 minutes away. But there is a store on the corner that has all the essentials so it wasnt that bad. If you are looking to just enjoy the home and the setting though then definitely 5 stars. We are already thinking about dates for next year and, based on our pictures and experience, we have many family members and friends also interested in booking here! 28 July 2014 - 16:48:02

My family and I had a wonderful time at this lakeside retreat. The house has a beautiful back yard that is right on the lake. Gorgeous view! The upper part of the yard is fenced in which was perfect for keeping my niece and nephew from wondering to the water unaccompanied. There is a gate from the yard that leads to the driveway, and following the driveway down takes you to a small beach and to the lake. We brought a couple kayaks with us from home and throughout our week stay we took turns paddling around the lake. We kept them on the beach, and it was very easy to take them out and bring them back. We were there late August and the water was calm and easy to kayak in. We also brought our bicycles. A few of us went on a biking trail near the house. The trail was quite rugged, but was still enjoyable. Wear bug spray if you go on this trail! Another day we took a 10 mile ride to Hall Home Place which is an apple winery. We had some Vermont cheese here and sampled the different wines/ciders. I recommend a visit. We took a couple day trips as well. One to Montreal, one to Stowe, and one to Burlington. There were 8 adults and 2 children staying in the house, and there was plenty of room for us. I was comfortable in the house even though it was fairly hot the week we were there. My brother and sister-in-law slept in the bedroom with the washer and dryer in it, and they said the room was warm at night. We used the kitchen and grill quite a bit during the week, and it was well stocked with cooking equipment and containers for leftovers. Also, the house was well supplied with hand soap, laundry detergent, dish soap, garbage bags, etc. The house is well looked after, and Chuck and Kim thought of everything to include in the house to make the stay enjoyable. They have a keen sense of detail, and I was impressed by all the small things. We received our security deposit promptly as well. The perfect house for a relaxing family vacation! Thank you Chuck and Kim! 15 September 2015 - 01:03:11

My family has stayed here for 3 years and can't say enough about how lovely this home is. It is beautiful, clean and has everything you need. We travel quite a lot and have stayed in many homes over the years. This house has all the "good stuff". It is stocked with nice linens, good cookware, quality dishes, etc. 07 March 2016 - 02:21:19

My family of three daughters, their husbands, and our grandchildren have been renting different properties in VT and NY for a few years together. This is the first one that we all agreed we would not hesitate to return to. As soon as we stepped foot into in the house we knew we were home. The pictures did not do justice of the interior. The open-concept family area with large living room opened to the fenced-in yard. How perfect for our toddlers. The dining room table easily fit our large family for games, crafts, and huge meals. The bay windows overlooking the lake make it a favorite spot for gathering. The kitchen was filled with all amenities we possibly could want including many spices. There were dishes, glasses, mugs, and flatware as well as pots and pans galore. The small table in the kitchen was an added bonus. We all wanted to take the master suite home with us. The view was beyond beautiful and the room itself was enormous. It became a getaway for reading, games, and quiet reflection. The lawn was mowed and the beach groomed before our stay. What a great first impression! The lake water was low this season because of the mild winter but for us that was not a problem. Even the toddlers could walk out safely and float with the help of their life jackets. The older kids and adults took full advantage of the canoe. We even rented paddle boards from the country store on Apple Island. We so loved that store that we took "field trips" there a couple of times. One small nuisance from mother nature was the aquatic plants we had to rake up that had washed up on the shoreline overnight. A one hour drive down through the islands to Burlington was well worth it. The drive itself was beautiful. We enjoyed Church Street and the ECHO Science Museum. I even worked in a Jazzercise class in Williston. On the trip home we took a detour to investigate the fossils on Isle La Motte. Right over the bridge crossing into NY is Rouses Point, a sweet little town with terrific pizza and ice cream at Gino's Pizza. The nearest full grocery story, Price Chopper, is a few minutes further in Champlain, NY. However there are some smaller stores right near the property. Owners Chuck and Kim were quick to respond when we tripped a circuit breaker. They sent over a neighbor who quickly came right over. They also responded quickly by phone or e-mail when I had questions. 20 July 2016 - 14:10:33

Loved this home on Lake Champlain! Perfect for our family of six adults and six children, ages 4 to 10...The children loved the bunk room. Well equipped home. Beautiful weather in June, breezes from the Lake were wonderful... Enjoyed kayaking on the Lake! Exploring the Islands of Lake Champlain , the towns of Burlington and Stowe and a trip to Montreal made our visit to your home so enjoyable . 20 June 2017 - 12:20:00

My family and I have vacationed with our friends at lake houses every summer for the past 11 years. We are a group of 15 people and this house was perfect for us. There were plenty of beds for everyone and the kitchen, dining and living areas were spacious and extremely comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed. The views of the lake were spectacular (especially from upstairs in the fabulous master bedroom/bathroom suite). The house is located within a half hour of major food stores (Hannaford's and Price Chopper), and we enjoyed day trips to Burlington and Montreal (about an hour drive for each). The fenced in yard had plenty of seating and a gas grill for enjoyable gatherings outside. We had 7 teenagers with us who all claimed that this was the nicest house we ever stayed in... and the adults all emphatically agreed! 17 July 2017 - 01:29:00

This is a roomy and beautiful house on Lake Champlain. The accomodations were wonderful! I had to contact the owner on the evening we arrived to get a set of sheets for one of the beds and he had someone drop them off the next day. There are plenty of beds and the living area and eating areas are perfect for large groups. The lake was clean and beautiful. It was so nice to be able to dock our boats right there as well. We had a great time and would highly recommend this property. We hope to rent there again!! 19 July 2017 - 11:23:00

We had a great time at the spacious lake home. Plenty of room for multi family vacations or friend get togethers. The gourmet kitchen is stocked and the living room is large and comfortable. The LR and DR and master bed/bath all have large windows with spectacular views. We were so relaxed at this home. There is a nice dock to hang out on and play off of and the lake water was generally clean and warm (in July). We would definitely rent this home again! 25 July 2017 - 04:19:00

This is our second stay here. It works great for large groups as there is plenty of communal space for games, meals, and visiting. The kitchen is well-equipped making for easy meal prep. The fenced yard is ideal for lawn games and makes a very safe play area for younger children. We all enjoyed the sandy beach and the clear water. The boat ramp on the property is easy to use to launch our sailboats. The only downside of the house is that both bathrooms are only accessible by stairs which could be challenging for someone with limited mobility. The owner is responsive to questions and requests. We highly recommend this home. 26 August 2017 - 23:54:00

We had a fantastic time. The house was beautiful and is a perfect place for several families to stay together. We played games together at the table, had smaller groups gathered in the multiple sitting areas. The yard and beach were great. We'll come back here again! 20 September 2017 - 19:28:00

We rented the house for a week in August 2008 and were pleased with nearly every aspect of our stay. The house was far larger than we needed for our group of seven adults and two children; I think it could comfortably hold at least four or five additional people. The layout of the house is perfect for a big group, with enough room that no one felt crowded. The well-equipped kitchen was great for preparing dinners for a big group; we also used the gas grill outside. The laundry facilities were also useful and let us pack less than we would have otherwise needed. The only drawbacks for us were that the lawn was very long when we arrived and wasn't mowed for several days. Also, the lake is higher than usual for this time of year and so the sandy beach was under water and the dock nearly floated away. Still, we were able to swim and kayak and enjoy the lake. The house is a nice walk from the village of Alburg, which is VERY small but does have some basic groceries and shops. You'll find better grocery shopping in St. Albans, which is about 20-25 minutes away. We did day trips to Montreal, Burlington and some Quebec wineries. All were about a one-hour drive from the house, and the nearest border crossing was very easy to navigate. 19 August 2008 - 12:36:32

The home is clean and spacious with beautiful lake views. The master suite is lovely with a jacuzzi tub. Large screen TV (not that you will want to spend much time indoors with the water right out the door). Stainless appliances and granite in the kitchen. Loads of sleeping space. Loved the trip to the Church Street outdoor mall in Burlington, VT (a must). Two beautiful golf courses nearby. Just go over the bridge to NY or Canada. 21 January 2010 - 19:30:44

My family and I (six adults and six children) just returned from a spectacular week at this house! The space worked perfectly for us; plenty of room for everyone with no feeling of being cramped. The open plan worked well with our little children as we could see them wherever they were playing. The house is very clean and well-equiped (great kitchen!); we were lacking nothing and grateful for it. The owner was very accommodating and we felt well taken care of. The views of the lake from the house are gorgeous and even more impressive from outside. The master suite (my wife and I stayed in it with our two children - newborn and two year old) has the best views from the house and provided good isolation from the rest of the bedrooms so as to avoid anyone else being disturbed by our newborn's crying at night. :-) The kids loved playing in the sand at the beach we all enjoyed swimming in the lake. We also enjoyed many hours just sitting and talking in the yard on the bench swing or down by the water on the beach or on the dock. The town of Alburgh has a convenient store that provided us with pretty much anything we needed and is a short walk from the house. Also, just a short drive away, the town of Rousse Point has more options for dining as well as a coffee house and a marina where one can rent boats or kayaks. We ended up spending most of our time at the house though as we were so comfortable! We would HIGHLY recommend this house for anyone wanting an idyllic location to get away for a relaxing vacation. We look forward to our next vacation at this house!! 06 July 2010 - 01:20:12

Our group of 14 (10 Adults and 4 kids) spent a delightful weekend at this home with the most incredible views of Lake Champlain. The photos don't do it justice. The kitchen was well-appointed with everything we needed for some wonderful meals including the use of a gas grill outside. The house is gorgeous. The main bedroom, with its breathtaking views and large windows, was like sleeping in a landscape painting. And the master bathroom, with its jacuzzi tub that overlooked the lake, just added to our relaxation. It was so clean, comfortable and peaceful...exactly what all of us needed for this get-together! I can't say enough about how special this place is and how much we want to come back again and again! I recommend this property highly and without reservation. I plan to visit again next year! 13 October 2010 - 15:11:17

I've been a frequent visitor to vacation rental houses and must say that this is one of the "best" place that I have ever stayed. The place is ideal for people of all ages and can be wonderful place in any season. Adding a pool table or some games can do wonders to this excellent vacation heaven. 19 October 2010 - 13:41:12

The house was straight out of 'Vermont Holiday Houses by Lake Champlain' Central Casting... clapperboard with a picket fence. Really great! It served our family group well and we had a happy 2 weeks there. This house doesn't offer grand luxury but it does offer a solidly comfortable option for a large family group who want to make their holiday dollar go as far as they can. Great location for exploring this corner of the world - Montreal is an hour away, Ben and Jerry's, Burlington, Green Mountains all within an hour or so drive. The house... Kitchen was excellent - had everything we needed. Decking area was great - plenty of seating for everyone outside. Living room was one big space - served us well. Any issues we had (we had just one request for more bed linen) were quickly dealt with by the lovely cleaner, who was on-hand via owner Chuck Comms with owner Chuck were business-like and speedy. He doesn't want your life story, but his approach means that things happen in a timely fashion. Watch-outs: House has only 2 bathrooms - make sure you think this through if you're a big group House AC is pretty ineffective - we two weeks were HOT - the system is more like a lacklustre fan system rather than cooling. Didn't really do much to cool the place. Additional provided fans did help keep air moving at least. A few in our party did complain about uncomfortable mattresses (too soft/springy/noisy etc) but that's big families for you! And I'm sure Chuck, being the decent chap he is, has a replacement plan in due course. We felt that photos made the house look bigger than it actually was. Whilst this wasn't a problem, it was the impression of everyone in our party, so worth sharing on here. Recycling trash - you need to take it to the local recycling centre. Chuck will give you the details. The beach in front of the house - is tricky for swimming due to the shallowness of the water - but the local State Park beach is excellent and is a 10 minute drive away. 24 August 2016 - 10:14:00

Perfect for extended family fun! Every year we host our daughters, grandchildren and this year, even the sons-in-law. We have our grandchildren attend Alburgh Union Bible Church Vacation Bible school, the week we stay. This has definitely been the nicest! Safe area for the little grandchildren outside in fenced area. Huge BBQ, Great kitchen, Take my advice and put dibs on the master bedroom,...you won't regret it! Bring 2 safety gates for the 2 stairways, if little ones. We had 5 vehicles - no problem parking. Very handy laundry room. I can't say enough! Wendy, Napanee, Ontario, Canada 27 July 2015 - 19:37:08
