The cottage was set in an ideal location for a relaxing family break. We stayed here over the New Year with some friends when the weather was less than ideal. However, the cottage was spacious and well equipped, making it very comfortable to stay indoors throughout these wet days. Seemingly very rural but also only a short walk to a major supermarket and a superb Indian restaurant/takeaway. When there was a break in the rain, there were also attractive strolls from the cottage itself. All rooms were furnished to a high standard and we particularly enjoyed the open log fire in the living room. We were very well looked after by the owner who took great care in showing us around the cottage at the start of our stay. Overall a lovely New Year break and we would not hesitate to recommend this to other families with young children. 13 January 2016 - 20:57:41

The cottage was lovely very bright and warm. Plenty of crockery and utensils, there is a store cupboard which is very handy, you just replace what you have used up , and anything you have left. We had our grandsons with us and they enjoyed the games. The beds are very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will more than likely return. 23 April 2016 - 13:09:19

We had a lovely time staying at Ivy Cottage for the long weekend. The cottage is very well appointed, and has a lovely rose garden and conservatory. We were very comfortable indeed. Susan was a very helpful host and gave us plenty of tips for things to do in the area. There was no shortage of great outings to do within a close locality. Great place to stay. 30 May 2016 - 18:37:05

My parents and I stayed at Ivy Cottage for 9 days in August and we used it as a base to explore West Sussex. We had a lovely time. The cottage is beautiful. It's spacious, clean, incredibly comfortable (especially the cosy sofas in the TV room!) and it has everything you could possibly need. The dining room looking out over the garden with all the beautiful flowers was a pleasure too. The owners, Susan and Peter, were welcoming and friendly and made us feel so at home. I would recommend this cottage to everyone, and I hope to return one day. Thank you for such a lovely family holiday. 04 September 2016 - 21:25:13

What a fantastic well equipped cottage! There we're 6 of us girls and we wanted a relaxing break away and this was the perfect cottage in the most perfect spot. It has all amenities local and also Arundel is a short train ride away. We would definitely recommend the Black Rabbit in Arundel! All in all a fantastic weekend and we would all recommend this lovely home. Thanks Peter and Susan for a great stay. 31 October 2016 - 11:31:34

Our hosts (the Hards) were ever so helpful in explaining where everything was in the cottage, as well as showing us on a map where we might find items of interest to us and places to visit. Pulborough is a lovely place with excellent grocery and places to eat. We had a great time and never ran out of things to do. A beautiful part of England, and our cottage deserves an A+. 10 July 2017 - 19:29:00

Really loved this cottage in a quaint village nestled in the Sussex Downs. It was fully equipped with everything we needed and was very comfortable. It is an old cottage with lots of quirkiness about it, but the modern conservatory leading into a fully stocked small garden makes a lovely addition to the house and somewhere that we enjoyed sitting for breakfast and in the evening when we came back in. Just to note, however, parking was very tight on the street outside the cottage, but did get parked further down the street without issue. Will definitely be making another visit here! 11 July 2017 - 15:13:00

We had a really great time - the cottage is beautiful. Lots of lovely touches, very well-equipped and a stunning garden. The pictures do not do justice. There are great walks from the doorstep in this pretty part of the world. The beds are super-comfy! Susan was very friendly and kind. We didn't want to leave. A wonderful place. 20 April 2017 - 12:35:00

Quinticential English country cottage situated in a pretty lane opposite the beautiful old church and close to the train station in the village. Very cosy, conveniently located and within walking distance of an excellent grocery store. The cottage had everything that we needed and more and the owners made us feel extremely welcome - re stocking logs etc as needed (even on Christmas Day!). Thank you so much for having us to stay - we are looking forward to coming back soon.... 06 January 2017 - 15:24:10

We had a lovely couple of days at Ivy Cottage. The house itself is a delightful cottage, cosy and full of charm, but also very well equipped with everything you would need during your stay. Our kids also loved it, and the separate lounge and TV room was a good feature of the house. There are lots of nice places to visit in the area (e.g. Arundel Castle, Petworth House, Midhurst etc) as well as the seaside not too far away and lots of pretty Sussex villages. David and Susan were very helpful and welcoming too, and thanks to you both for a lovely couple of days! 01 November 2017 - 10:20:00

The cottage exceeded our expectations in terms of layout and facilities with real attention to detail. The owner was so helpful and thoughtful, that they really enhanced our stay. We would wholeheartedly recommend this property, as it proved an ideal base for a family wedding. The only downside is the parking, but is not that much of a problem. 12 May 2014 - 18:03:09

A charming comfortable cottage with a very pretty garden. Lots of home comforts, nice large tv and 2 bathrooms. Very helpful owner. An enjoyable week visiting NT houses, and not far from the coast either. A pretty part of the country. The village of Pulborough has a couple of eating places and lots of pretty villages nearby.Would definately recommend this property for a holiday. 23 June 2014 - 21:02:14

A beautifully and tastefully restored country cottage with excellent facilities - the cottage had been brought into the 21st century with modern facilities without spoiling the traditional cottage feel. We were looking for somewhere large enough to accommodate 6 people but with additional space to arrange the flowers for our daughter's wedding and there was room aplenty here. The conservatory proving ideal for the preparations prior to moving the flowers to the coolness of the main lounge. The cottage was extremely well equipped (even down to the owner providing milk, tea, coffee, eggs etc. to greet us on arrival). It would be hard to find a household item that was needed but not provided. The whole cottage was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and furnished and the beds were very comfortable. Although essentially a "cottage", there was plenty of room for the 6 family members to either sit together or to spend time in different rooms. The garden was a treasure to behold too - a typical cottage garden, absolutely brimming with flowers and plants for all seasons. We were delighted to be able to sit out amidst the lavender to relax on the day after the wedding. Most importantly, our host made us feel extremely welcome and as we are always interested in the history of such charming cottages, we received a potted history on the subject from her, which was most appreciated. The only minor downside to the property was that there was no onsite parking, but there was always room to park just a short distance down the road, so it was not a major problem for us and we would strongly recommend this property to a friend or relative. 10 July 2014 - 10:58:45
  16. Really recommend this lovely cottage. Has all the amenities highlighted by a great dining room conservatory and back garden. Be sure to take the walk right out of the cottage and right again on the footpath after the train bridge. Also, the Banyan Tree Indian restaurant I'd NOT to be missed. Great CIA trained chef cooking dome amazing, authentic Indian dishes of truly high quality. 09 August 2014 - 21:35:41

We rented the cottage for a pre Christmas family get together as we were not going to be.seeing my children, their partners and my 3 month old grandson at Christmas. The cottage was perfect for this purpose, it has a lovely dining room with a table large enough for all of us to have meals at and sit around chatting and playing games. The owners were fantastic, they had put small Christmas trees up in the dining room and lounge and we used these for our presents. There were mince pies and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. When we sprung an unexpected additional guest on them at short notice they were wonderful and so helpful in accommodating us. We used the log fire which gave the place a lovely cosy feel. There is a 2nd smaller lounge with a tv which we found useful as we didn't all have to endure the programmes that 2 or 3 wanted to watch. The accommodation in general is first class and everywhere spotlessly clean. There are 2 bathrooms which is very handy for a group of our size. There is a decent sized Tesco very close by and a Sainsbury's a little further away so it was easy catering wise. We used the local Indian for a takeaway one night, this is only a 5 to 10 minute walk, there is a Chinese and a Fish and Chip shop also all very handy if you don't want to cook. Overall I would strongly recommend the cottage, the facilities are perfect and the owners brilliant. 18 January 2015 - 09:19:38

We booked a weekend away with our best friends and chose Pulborough as it is easy to get to and there is lots to do and see. I chose Ivy Cottage as it looked very comfortable and perfect for what we wanted. Susan, the owner was really accomodating and helpful from the outset and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is wonderful, very well equipped and a good size. The beds are really snuggly and we all slept well (apart from the bells chiming in the church opposite!), which is always a real must for us when we are away from home. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathrooms are great, the lounges comfortable, and the conservatory, with its big table, is ideal for meals and playing cards. It is so nicely kept and I would love to see the garden in full bloom in the Summer. There is no off street parking but there is lots of room on the road outside and we didn't find this a problem. I would recommend Ivy Cottage to my friends and family without hesitation. We are planning a return trip. Many thanks Susan.... 24 February 2015 - 15:42:11

Thanks again Susan and Peter for the wonderfull stay as well as the dinner invitation, we really loved it and had such a good time! 28 April 2015 - 15:23:33
