The apartment is situated on the third floor with no lift. The walk is worth it as the flat is stylish, comfortable, light and peaceful and has wonderful views down Queens Gate. It is situated in the heart of South Kensington within five minutes walk from "South Ken" Underground Station. Fully furnished with antique pictures and furniture in the traditional English style, its situation is perfect for a family of four or two couples wanting to explore the museums, parks, shops and restaurants of this safe and vibrant and truly international area of London, with some of the capital's top attractions situated only minutes walk away. Well located property in South Kensington with good transport links, local supermarkets and restaurants. The apartment was quite well equipped but not as functional and comfortable as it might have been. There were some minor maintenance issues which we noted for the benefit of the owner on leaving (not appreciated). The only serious negative was the stairs which become very steep from the third to fourth floor but contributed to our fitness program. 08 August 2017 - 11:41:00

This flat was like living in home away from home. Very comfortable and able to accomodate 4 people easily. The flat was on the third floor which does not have a lift/elevator therefore be aware. The stairs were not problematic for us. The flat had ingredients for cooking, toiletries in the bathroom, wonderful works of art. It is very well situated to the tube station and a short walk from the wonderful museums and Harrods. The grocers are within minutes as are restaurants and bottle shops. The flat was very clean and, as mentioned before, very comfortable. Communication with Sue was prompt. We would highly recommend this flat and would stay again. 3. Thanks Sue and Debbie. 18 June 2017 - 01:22:00

We've rented several properties in Europe, always with good results, and this flat met our expectations. The description and photos are accurate; accommodations are comfortable. It is obvious the owners have put much effort into providing a well thought out vacation rental. The neighborhood is lively, and we expected that in a city apartment. Even though London was quite warm during our stay, the flat stayed cool when we used the provided fans. There were no surprises. Location couldn't have been better for our needs. Owners were responsive when we had a question. 29 May 2017 - 15:58:00

This is a great location. We really enjoyed the restaurants within walking distance and our easy access to the underground system nearby. Everything was exactly as it was described with no unpleasant surprises. 25 April 2017 - 03:29:00

We loved the location, so handy to everything and easy to get to from Heathrow or the Eurostar on the train. Buses to most places if you didn't want to take the train. Lots of great cafes nearby. The apartment is on the 3rd floor so be prepared for the walk up, that said we were only up and down once a day as we were out doing stuff. Once in the apartment it was roomy, well equipped and comfortable. The beds were great as well. The bathroom is small but functional, probably only 1 person at a time getting ready in it but that is not unusual in apartments in London. The only downside, and given we live in a very quiet area - it probably wouldn't be noticed by other people, was it would be better with double glazing or if that is not allowed the panel insert thing that can be put in the frame to make it a bit quieter for a sleep-in. All in all would stay here again. 24 April 2017 - 02:03:00

We recently stayed at this apartment (week before Easter) for 5 nights. The apartment is perfectly located, about a 5 minute walk from the South Kensington Tube Station (and there's a great ice cream place right across the street from the tube station!). There's also a bike stand right outside which made it easy to go for a bike round to the park one evening. A grocery store is located right next door and is open early and late, making it perfect for us. The beds were comfortable. We have two teenagers and they slept well in the two twins. Thanks for a great stay! As others have shared, that last flight of stairs is an adventure, but all of the other perks (especially location), made this a perfect flat as a launch pad for our adventures. 23 April 2017 - 14:10:00

perfect for our work/play visit to London. The flat is nicely laid out and appointed, and easily became our home for the week. 19 March 2017 - 17:00:00

The setting was lovely, spacious, and quiet while the location was perfect for us with reasonably close access to taxis and the underground. The kitchen was modern and convenient. Unfortunately, the hairdryer in the master bedroom didn't have a cord sufficiently long to reach the area of the mirror, and the extension cord provided with it didn't seem to be working. 12 September 2017 - 01:36:00

Location ideal. Nearby S. Kensington tube station makes getting to all tourist sites most convenient. Suggested wording for directions from South Kensington tube station to flat -- "walk south for 5 minutes on Old Bromson Road, ON EAST SIDE OF ROAD. Entrance to flat prior to intersection of Old Bromson Road and Queens Gate." Very roomy flat, with kitchen, living room, bath room, and 2 bedrooms. Beds and pillows excellent. Full kitchen plus washer and dryer most appreciated. Walking up 3 flights of stairs will be difficult for anyone with walking challenges -- especially when handling suitcases. 26 September 2017 - 12:47:00

Great location for us. As pictured and much more spacious and comfortable than hotel rooms at the beginning of our visit to GB. Loved the easy walk to museums and the South Ken tube station. We were 66 and 69 years old and found the 70 stairs down to the front door not a problem. (And easier at the end of our 5 night stay). The binder about how to use appliances was helpful. Do empty the condenser on the dryer each time as they advise. Almost no noise heard from other units. 12 October 2017 - 16:17:00

We were 2 senior couples who thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well equipped, wonderfully clean and very comfortable apartment. It was an inviting home away from home. The climb up to the apartment is significant, but for a healthy person with a good fitness level, totally worth the effort. As nice as the apartment was, its chief advantage is its location. It is a short walk to many significant attractions and the proximity to the subway system makes getting anywhere very easy. Sue, our host, was very helpful and thorough with communications. It is with confidence that I recommend this apartment. 10 October 2017 - 14:05:00

My son and I had planned a trip to London so that he could hopefully attend some Chelsea football matches. We never expected the wonderful haven we found ourselves in when we arrived at Old Brompton Rd. After a seamless transfer on the Piccadilly line to South Kensington from Heathrow we found a spotlessly clean ,spacious London abode. Our 12 night stay was made even more special because of the absolute convenience of this flats position. Footsteps to the Natural History Museum, the V&A, Harrods and South Kensington Tube with its District and Circle lines taking us all over this great city. Local pubs, supermarkets and fine dining also easily within reach . Sue our host was able to obtain tickets for the Chelsea v Everton match at Stamford Bridge which made my son's first trip to London unforgettable. As ours was quite a long stay Sue also made sure that the flat was cleaned and serviced. Her attention to detail was very much appreciated and for our stay she made sure that we felt very much at home. With central heating, modern appliances and wonderfully comfortable bedding my son and I both look back with great affection to our home away from home ! 19 March 2014 - 12:37:32

We spent a lovely week in this cosy flat. It was very clean, well-kept and well-equipped (it could be useful just to add a microwave oven!). Beds are very confortable. One bedroom is just a little bit noisy. The location is fantastic: the underground station (Piccadilly and District lines) 8 minutes walk far and important museums at a walk distance. Exactly next to the front door a supermarket opened all day long and lots of restaurants and cafs. Information by the owner very efficient and precise. We highly recommend this flat!!! 01 May 2014 - 14:43:29

This apartment is a terrific find! The location is ideal in many ways: close to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The Science Museum, and The Museum of Natural History...all within easy walking. The South Kensington Tube station is also less than a 10 minute walk. The kitchen is well equipped and has lovely Wedgwood China! Full sized fridge and stove/cooker. A number of restaurants on street. Only room for improvement is that one of the beds is starting to sag in middle so less comfortable but other bed very comfortable. Have mentioned to owner who says she'll be changing that bed. Quiet apartment. Third level....60 steps up...we all can use the exercise! 06 May 2014 - 02:38:37

The South Kensington flat exceeded our expectations. It was roomy, very clean and totally British. The location is excellent near the South Kensington tube with multiple restaurants and pubs nearby. The beds were comfortable with a nice sitting room as well. The kitchen and fridge were full sized and functioned well. Bathroom was very clean and spacious. Be prepared to walk up three flights of narrow stairs as there is no lift but it is worth it! Overall Excellent and hope to be back in the future. 07 April 2015 - 17:20:18

Sue's flat in the South Kensington area was a great fit for our family. the flat was nice and clean, and had all the amenities we needed, including a nice kitchen that allowed us to eat a fair number of meals in the flat. The beds (two twins & a queen) were all quite comfy, and we felt 'at home'. The location is great too. The South Ken tube (Circle, District & Piccadilly lines) is a 2-minute walk, and the #11 bus on Kings Road (best sightseeing city bus!) got us everywhere we wanted to go. The Natural History Museum and V&A surprised us at how close they were to the flat. So, we went back a second time to the NHM. All-in-all, I would highly recommend this flat for a young family that wants to explore London. 23 April 2015 - 18:44:18

Family of four stayed here for a week in November. The location was great, apartment was clean and offered everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, master bedroom was nice and quiet. There are restaurants, markets, coffee shops and a tube station very nearby. There are a lot of stairs, but I just had foot and ankle surgery a few months ago and I managed just fine. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay! 02 December 2017 - 13:36:00

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at Sues apartment in South Kensington. It was perfect for a family with two adults and two teenagers. The location is excellent for exploring London attractions by tube or bus. Also close to both Hyde Park and Battersea Park. There are several restaurants, a market, other shops, museums and two pubs within a 5 minute walk. The description clearly describes the 3 flights of stairs required to reach the apartment. This was a great value, and we would certainly rent again. 10 January 2018 - 12:25:00

Pros: 1. Outstanding location -- near the South Kensington Tube station, restaurants, Victoria and Albert museum, etc. There are two small grocery stores within a 3 minute walk. 2. The owner was very accommodating with requests, and very helpful. 3. It's great having a washer and dryer in the unit. 4. There is a very handy book of guidelines for the unit, but more importantly, instructions on how to use the dishwasher, washer and dryer. 5. Cable TV with Netflix on Channel 204 -- you can log in and watch most of your favorites (there may be some difference in availability in that not everything offered in the US is offered in the UK). (Just don't forget to log out when you leave...) 6. The master bedroom was very quiet and had the bed was quite comfortable. 7. The kitchen is very serviceable, with a full collection of plates, glasses, pots and pans, and a dishwasher. It is a tad small. Cons: 1. The biggest issue for us was the street noise -- the street is very, very busy, and you get a great deal of noise in both the living room and the smaller bedroom (the one with two twin beds). It was distracting to try to relax or watch TV in the living room due to the noise. The windows really need to be replaced -- dual pane windows would make a major difference to the livability of this flat. 2. The WiFi is a little wonky -- you'll often lose Internet connection for no reason. When we first got there, we couldn't connect at all. A reboot of the router fixed that, but we'd often have to reboot a couple times a day just to maintain Internet connectivity. 3. The living room couch cushions really need to be replaced. When you sit down they flatten to about 2" in height. 4. This is a very minor thing, but just for the American guests, the shower doesn't have a full door or curtain. It's a kind of folding glass door that covers less than 50% of the length of the tub. Bottom line, you'll generally end up with a fair amount of water on the floor. 13 May 2017 - 21:34:00
