We really enjoyed our stay in Brooklyn. The location was perfect and easy transportation to Manhattan. The room was clean and functional. The hosts were friendly and very responsive to our needs and requests. 16 November 2016 - 15:38:00

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. The "A" train is close by and gets you into the city in 15 to 20 minutes. We also used it to get to JFK and were at our terminal within an hour. There is a small and large supermarket on the way back from the Metro. The area is a family neighborhood and we felt safe. The apartment is clean and has everything you need. John and Kim were very nice and helpful, always inquiring if we needed anything when we saw them. They live downstairs so are easily accessible. We will stay here if we return to NY. 29 September 2016 - 03:44:35

Beds were very comfortable. Kim is helpful and available. Kitchen and bathroom are lovely. Close to subway, grocery and good restaurants. A wonderful place to stay to enjoy New York City. This place is a real find. 09 May 2017 - 11:09:00

A clean and fully equipped studio apartment in Brooklyn. Plenty of space for my family of two adults and one child. We stayed 8 nights. Ideal for those who want the at home feeling at a reasonable price instead of staying in an expensive hotel in Manhattan and who don't mind taking the subway every day. We prepared our breakfasts and the occasional dinner in the equipped kitchen. Conveniently situated close to the express A subway (Nostrand) with direct access to Manhattan and to JFK airport Air Train. The studio is also quiet at night compared to noisy Manhattan. The street is quiet. The Nostrand subway station is in a more lively area with shops and supermarkets. The owner is professional and respects your privacy but is available onsite if needed. He also kindly helped us with our heavy suitcases up and down the stairs. The studio is exactly as the description and photos. We would consider staying here again. 30 April 2016 - 20:53:00

The studio fit our needs and was just as advertised. Especially good in this unit are the bathroom and the kitchen (we did not use the kitchen but it looked decently stocked with the basics) About a .6 mile walk to the subway was not bad. John and family were accommodating to a few special requests.Recommended! 27 September 2017 - 20:30:00

Our family of four really enjoyed our stay on Hancock Street. It is a pleasant neighborhood with beautiful buildings and very close to the A and C train station on Nostrand (about a 5 minute walk). The A express train takes you right into Manhattan. The 3rd floor apartment was just as pictured, very clean with a beautiful large bathroom (which was great with three girls getting ready). The kitchen is extremely well-equipped if you want to prepare a meal. The bodega on the corner had the basics we needed for breakfast (toast, eggs, coffee, milk, etc), and we found good places to eat close by as well. John and Kim were there to let us in when we arrived from the airport and had lots of information about things to do in the neighborhood. I recommend getting a town car service, way less hassle than a taxi and you know upfront how much it will cost. We are so glad that we avoided the expense of a hotel and stayed in Brooklyn. 01 October 2014 - 17:37:31

We really enjoyed staying here. The room was cozy, the bathroom was gorgeous, and having a full kitchen was great. The owner was very nice and helpful. He even called to make sure I had moved my car for the daily street sweeping. Location is great! Very close to the subway, in a safe location and the brownstone buildings are pleasant to look at. 27 July 2015 - 13:12:48

Our family stayed here for 3 days on a recent visit to Brooklyn and we felt safe and comfortable in this studio apartment. John and Kim are very helpful in figuring out the subway, which is very convenient to get to from this apartment. It is only a three and a half block walk to the subway and then a quick ride to the Brooklyn Bridge and anywhere else you may want to visit in NY city. 17 October 2015 - 18:21:47

Came and stayed for a girls trip and had the best time! Great location, friendly people, and perfect size for 3 of us! The bathroom was the perfect size for getting ready! Would definitely recommend it! 15 October 2017 - 13:55:00

This Brooklyn brownstone was beautiful and so very close to the subway line, getting into Manhattan was a breeze. Our hosts were helpful and accommodating with everything we needed. Our 6 year old daughter loved the place and the surrounding neighborhood. There are great restaurants nearby, and beautiful treelined streets. We felt very safe walking around. 13 October 2017 - 20:14:00

Smaller than I expected, but was a great place to stay for the weekend. Did not have towels though so make sure you bring your own. The owner was so nice and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again if I"m in the area! 04 October 2017 - 03:53:00

The apartment was what I had expected. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint is that the dishes had been put away dirty (there was egg stuck to the spatula that was in the drawer) and we had to wash everything before we used it. The bathroom was big and the shower was nice. My husband was a little freaked out by he 'alternate parking' on the street. Midwest people aren't used to that. 15 July 2017 - 23:45:00

This is a brownstone on a pretty street. Some of the buildings in the area are in need of some work. The apartment is updated and has everything we needed. Four adults were comfortable. We liked that we got more of the New York experience - Walking to the subway and going into Manhatten. We were never there except to sleep because of so many things to see in Manhatten! We preferred this to more expensive hotels in Manhatten. 23 June 2017 - 02:00:00

Nice stay! The place was clean and right for us. Good contact with the owner! 11 December 2017 - 18:03:00

Great place! It's a studio apartment but felt very spacious. John met us at the door and even carried my luggage to the third floor. He then proceeded to give us a guided tour of the apartment and all things we needed to know for our four day stay in Brooklyn. The apartment was very well supplied with everything we needed. We met some of the folks who lived in the building and found them to be friendly and delightful! There was a grocery store nearby and we stocked up with breakfast and beverage items. We were able to find our way around to the subway with no troubles. Thanks, John!! 28 November 2017 - 16:40:00

John and his staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We were gone most of the day, so the room was perfect for what we needed. The kitchen was great & bedroom was pretty spacious! The location was pretty good, we wanted the full Brooklyn experience & am pretty sure we got that. There were great restaurants just a short walk from the apartment & the Nostrand ave. subway station was maybe 5 minutes away. The only downsides Id say would be the beds (just a little stiff), and there were some really strong incense being burned next door every night. However, we would definitely stay here again! 30 October 2017 - 14:30:00

One small issue with the historic stay. We were not used to the radiator which was loud during the night. Otherwise the place was quiet. Hancock street is a quiet, residential street in an otherwise busy area. 23 November 2016 - 12:32:00

My husband and I stayed in John's apartment over Thanksgiving holiday. John greeted us at the door, AND he carried my luggage up the stairs. He then proceeded to give us a detailed walk-through of the apartment. It was well stocked with everything that we needed, and was very clean and the price was right! There was a great guide book with very helpful information available. We quickly found our way around the area to get where we needed to go. We met a couple of ladies who lived in the building and were greeted and received well. We would highly recommend this property! 10 January 2018 - 18:54:00
